I was chilling on the couch and decided to reread the ending of my comic, and like- I already knew exactly what happened but here’s an artistic rendition of how my soul felt reading it.

Nah, it really felt like I was reading something new for some reason even though it literally lives in my brain rent free.

@GarzaGoose I LOVE that idea. The mixed media (crochet!) is such a fin way to tackle the design process! WHIMSEY!

@migxmeg You've got this! No matter how rusty you may feel (and possibly feel like you have to play catch-up with your past-self (and your pastself's expectations of where present and future you should be)), some of us here are still trying to catch up to you (the old you, the rusty you, and the future you).

@ArtGremlin I can relate to this cartoon soooooo so much.

Soon my month long sleepless Cpap trial will be over. I discovered that the best way to get comfortable with a Cpap is to not wear it. I also discovered that a back brace reduces a lot of my sciatic pain and I sleep longer. Plus my blood pressure has been lowering.

HMMMMMM!

This all doesn't mean that I'm not choking to death every night. The architecture of my nose and sinuses is fucked and it's probably gonna kill me unless I can force the government to cover nasal surgery like they're supposed to. But it does mean my head is clearing up enough to pick up a pen again. So I eased myself back in with the good old 500 Drawing Prompts book

Simple ball-pen stuff.

I altered the prompt. Pray I do not alter it further.

@DanielRKM always good to remember that we are drawing inspiration from each other - helps that self-critical voice take a little chill. Thanks for being such an encouraging friend :coffee_love:.

And feels I should include the event link in case anyone else interested in some prompted figure drawing: https://www.adorkastock.com/draw-everything-june/

Some doodles about my new comic's heroine.

Dunno how to draw guys. This design took me too darn long.

He's in the story for five panels yet I'm choosing to draw his design ever so slowly. Smh.

@thepenmonster Craaaap. That sucks (your story, not your art)! Glad you're rocking the art and doing the best you can. Hope you feel better and things fall into place (and not your nasal cavities collapsing).

@EncryptedWriting The design struggle is real.

I've been studying a some cartoon styles lately with my gig for CBR (My god, Garfield is rendered in SUCH a clean way, I hate it). But thankfully I did some Peanuts work this week and am happy to discover Charles Schultz was SO loose and non-exacting with his line work (from panel to panel, day to day). It was like a breath of fresh air where I didn't feel like I had to agonize over the lines and just try to nail the shapes. Here are some pencils of Deadpool for funsies. It's like Peanuts without Charlie Brown.

Gremlin does traditional art once more!!! This time I’m gonna use my jelly gouache and a color palette

Magma doodle!

Stealing @beebutterbee’s idea of giving Mev a jumper or whatever you call those. I imagine she stole some farmer’s trousers and made them fashionable.

Omg yesss I feel like she would love the practicality of a jumper/romper/overalls whatever you wanna call it xD def fits her style too
