I know you'll kick butt at it too when you start :thumbsup: his pants was one of my personal fave things to work on, used to make lots of abstract patterns in the past never had a use for them until I realized they fit perfect on his pants. Tried to capture a triangle theme on him too

@AfroAtelier thanks my friend! Yep I can imagine it being rewarding documenting the process and you're right especially when examining the steps at a future time, reminds me of looking back at old oc designs vs the new ones too. Nice on cheat sheet,

I'm totally a slacker on keeping color references and true especially with rl paints, no digital eydropper tool in the RL to save you lol Just saw your Mulan post, those look gorgeous and inspiring
Also for the 3D it varies based on the clothing detail, sometimes it would look better on drawing vs the 3d so I'd have to revise stuff. Issandro's clothing patterns came from older patterns I drew years ago too. I studied 3d formally (Gamedesign) so that has been a boost on the technical side. A major timesaver has been a software called Daz 3d that have generic humans already rigged (3d skeleton) so I'd pop that in blender and build the original physical features, props, clothing, hair etc. I always recommend Daz to other artists it's free and useful on so many levels, they even have a cloth drape feature. Thanks on the positive compliments on the traditional work and angles too, yep tried to use a triangle motif across his deign.

Nice. I really dig how this came out.

@MerrowBros WOOO congrats! You gon be able to cash that fat one out!

@AfroAtelier, I know this is super late but I freaking love Lilo and Stitch. Saw it in theatres when it first came out! There's a really neat article about how the project was able to be as awesome as it was, and all the cost-cutting they did to stay under Disney's radar to keep it awesome. Highly recommend to anyone who didn't read it: https://www.polygon.com/features/22675483/lilo-and-stitch-disney-animation-chris-sanders-dean-deblois?utm_source=pocket-newtab1

@Kelheor OMG I have been feeling SO crappy the last couple months and I feel like it has to be winter. Like I don't see how it can be anything else.

I TRIED to do some sketching for a character to try and make her be not!Dot. There's so many pieces I don't yet know/like about her writing-wise though that I'm, eh.

Back to our scheduled programing of drawing 6'3" muscley bois I guess. At least they won this week :tapa_pop:

Made a digital version of one of my inktober drawings, and tried to use more saturated colors and stuff like that. I really like how it turned out ^^
Props to @rajillustration 's tutorial on saturated color schemes lol

I don't know if I already shared this but I was sorting out my art supplies:

And I stumbled across a sketch I lost momentum for because it was such a big project that I was probably to big for me to chew at the time but I definitely want to share it with you all:

@migxmeg I used to do digital art but after a system error with my tablet, I lost all of my work. After speaking with my partner, they suggested I try a different medium that was more tangible and they gifted me watercolours. The original plan was to make a digital comic but when I stumbled across Wolfsbane, my jaw dropped, this was the first time I saw a watercolour comic and it looked breathtaking! I've learnt a lot just by analysing their work and insta and glad you enjoyed it! :+1:🏾

@Black_Conscious Your art with Mulan in her armour reminds me of paintings from the time period that the movie is set. Like woodblock prints and ink brush paintings! It's really interesting to look at because I can't see her main plate armour but you've drawn it so well that I can use my visuo-spatial pad to fill in the rest.

@DanielRKM nothing beats a good'ol dragon sketch, the shading on the necks and behind the horns really adds depth

@stiatent Daz 3d, I'll have to check that out! I've recently wanted to create models of characters so that I can experiment with more complex and natural poses. I was looking a Zbrush and Blender but I've only ever seen videos and when you watch someone online use these apps, they make it look so easy. I recently found out that Autodesk have a 3d software. I was interested in that because, back when I did digital art I used their drawing app.
Did you ever create any games or are planning to make some for the future?

@Mallory amazing character design! And I saw the article you shared. And so many points hit home like changing chase seen at the end from plane to spaceship last minute because of 9/11. But by far, I think it is a good example of a what happens when companies do research into the cultures they are writing about as well as involving a diverse team to contribute to a project. The bonus features on the DVD goes into a lot of detail explaining all the places they went to and asking Tia Carrere for advice.
Thanks for sharing, that was a good read! :+1:🏾
