I don't know if I already shared this but I was sorting out my art supplies:
And I stumbled across a sketch I lost momentum for because it was such a big project that I was probably to big for me to chew at the time but I definitely want to share it with you all:
@migxmeg I used to do digital art but after a system error with my tablet, I lost all of my work. After speaking with my partner, they suggested I try a different medium that was more tangible and they gifted me watercolours. The original plan was to make a digital comic but when I stumbled across Wolfsbane, my jaw dropped, this was the first time I saw a watercolour comic and it looked breathtaking! I've learnt a lot just by analysing their work and insta and glad you enjoyed it! 🏾
@Black_Conscious Your art with Mulan in her armour reminds me of paintings from the time period that the movie is set. Like woodblock prints and ink brush paintings! It's really interesting to look at because I can't see her main plate armour but you've drawn it so well that I can use my visuo-spatial pad to fill in the rest.
@DanielRKM nothing beats a good'ol dragon sketch, the shading on the necks and behind the horns really adds depth
@stiatent Daz 3d, I'll have to check that out! I've recently wanted to create models of characters so that I can experiment with more complex and natural poses. I was looking a Zbrush and Blender but I've only ever seen videos and when you watch someone online use these apps, they make it look so easy. I recently found out that Autodesk have a 3d software. I was interested in that because, back when I did digital art I used their drawing app.
Did you ever create any games or are planning to make some for the future?
@Mallory amazing character design! And I saw the article you shared. And so many points hit home like changing chase seen at the end from plane to spaceship last minute because of 9/11. But by far, I think it is a good example of a what happens when companies do research into the cultures they are writing about as well as involving a diverse team to contribute to a project. The bonus features on the DVD goes into a lot of detail explaining all the places they went to and asking Tia Carrere for advice.
Thanks for sharing, that was a good read! 🏾
