So the kids wanted to be battling Pokemon on our Christmas card this year, but copyright infringement gets you on the naughty list at Staples. We started with a drawing of Pikachus fighting but that was immediately flagged because Pikachu was just so darn recognizable. We tried again with deep cut Pokemon (regieleki and regidraco) but then got a call from Staples saying "Sir, legendary Pokemon are off limits too" ). Impressed, but also pressed for time, we made up our own characters. My eldest just wanted Artemis from my comic (so I Pokemon-ified her a bit) and my youngest wanted a holiday platypus. Here's the first sketch of their battle (without any of the fun FX).
