Almost a week ago. You should've seen when the launch ate all the italics in every novel - the whole words, not the formatting. Right now, we're in damage control mode as the devs try to fix obvious QoL things that the higher ups clearly didn't care about.

I like the new look. It seems friendlier to wide comic strips on desktop.

Looks exactly the same. The width limit is 940 pixels, that doesn't change even if you're page or scroll type. You just have two huge white bars (one if you have the episode list open) that don't do anything.

I followed the link to ComicFury from here and made an account, it looks cool and all.

But the comic I hosted is not protected from being copied/downloaded.
So there's that then.

I use Opera with Scriptsafe.
I can download Tapas comic pages just by right clicking.
There's no real way to protect a comic image in a browser, as far as I know anyway.

I used Opera a while ago, it kind of mirrored Google Chrome. With Chrome I can save the full web-page and the full image files download with it.

It's a safe bet (in theory) to watermark every page, or post only drafts on free sites like this and load the finals for one's own protected site or a Patreon Tier.

But despite all that, hackers gotta hack.

I personally miss being able to see who liked a page and the infinite scroll through comics on desktop. Especially the infinite scroll! The infinite scrolling was so nice and it made binging comics so easy. Now you have to click through each page. Is there a setting that I'm missing somewhere that puts the infinite scroll back?

Wattpad was exactly what I was thinking of. Although I'm not sure Tapas could get quite as bad as Wattpad forums., so there is still hope.

But the new layout is why I still keep a comicsgator, even though I can do my own art now.

( I hope they also don't bring the Wattpad social atmosphere as well, part of what I liked here was how close it was to Ink Blazers. )

No setting, nor a timeline of when that feature (really, one of the things that set Tapas apart from Webtoon and Smackjeeves) will be reimplemented. Apparently, Michael has said they will do that eventually...but honestly, take it with a grain of salt. Clearly, these decisions are being forced on by someone else, so that potential return could easily be cancelled at the drop of a hat.

Worst case scenario, they're saying this and hoping we forget. And who knows...it might just work.
