finally got out of the house proper and went to the library. an interesting thing that happened though, our library has a sort of creative area dedicated to art and tech lot of nice stuff for both the youth and the adults and one of the librarians/workers whose seen me frequent the library comes over asking when ill be "gracing them with my presence" ive been thinking about it almost nonstop since he said it and still cant quite process the invitation.

its almost embarrassing since ive been dying to peek in anyways what with all the cool stuff but i can't help but be flustered by today's events

You should definitely do that. I have been trying to get my wife's novels into local libraries for years now. I cannot get them onto the shelves even by donating copies. (I suspect that they just get tossed into the recycling dumpsters.) Libraries are very high profile if very locally concentrated.

dunno if I'll be getting anything on the shelves but it'd be nice to have some folks in the area to chat with about art and writing and things (cantreallygetitathome)

plus i remember someone whos there that was potentially a sonic fan which would also be nice

Although I don't have context, that seems strange enough that it makes me suspect a case where someone just mistakenly used a phrase without actually knowing what it meant. It's possible they had no intention to be sarcastic and just chose their words poorly ¯_(ツ)_/¯

well i dont think there was any sarcasm ive spoken with him before about the tech and other things that go on in their, i guess it could be described as a sort of activity corner. but between my obvious interest in the tech thats available and them likely hoping to get me out of my shell i doubt there was cause for harm

does anyone here ever struggle with designing covers for their comics? I've always avoided it because i get so caught up in the details i end up frustrating myself and never finish it.

If my comic ever got good enough, I'd probably end up commissioning covers. Some people have a real eye for that

Well I'm halfway through the baby project with my students and none of them have brought back a destroyed baby yet.

They are ^_^ The last two years each saw a broken baby. I'm confident that we will not get a broken one this year.

If nothing else I am treating myself through bingo cards I made for myself. I get a set each week. If I get bingo, I get to treat myself. It's based off of common issues with the project. Course I partly drive myself crazy cause I let the kids send me remind messages to my phone and Ill get up and answer them.

But real parents have 24 hour nurse hotlines they can call.

Yer funny But seriously. I love my job. I just get real tired sometimes. And really... if it gets the kid to stop and think before doin' the deed... I'm happy to lose sleep for a month or so.

I teach middle schoolers. Family and consumer science. Think Home ec, but now with a focus on career stuff and careers you can get in human services and the hotel/restaurant industry
