Things that you surprisingly never/rarely draw

Pour moi:

1) Kiss scenes
Really any kind of physical intimacy, from hugs to handshakes. I go to draw it once in a blue moon, and suddenly realize that I have no muscle memory for it, like "good god I've never done this before...how can this be??"

It's just strange to me...I do kinda avoid romance in my own stories, but I write tons of it in fan content, so you'd think I would draw some once in a while, just for fun. =/ And there's really no explanation for the lack of more platonic contact...it's like my characters just somehow never touch each other, and it kinda freaks me out...

2) Food
I mentioned this once before on this forum...I love food, but I almost never draw it and it's such a shame...there are so many techniques I'd like to try...! >_<

3) Electronics
Sure, I draw phones occasionally, but anything else? A laptop? A TV? A radio? I've simply...never. I have no idea why.

From this (taking into consideration that I've spent years drawing comics...) you could surmise that most of my characters are antagonistic fantasy aliens who do not live in the modern world, or are otherwise confined to highly specific environments (e.g. schools)...and you would not be very far off base. :9

Monsters

One that comes to mind immediately is monsters (and other creatures). For someone who writes and draws almost exclusively fantasy, I draw surprisingly few monsters... and also am really bad at drawing them xD I need to force myself to draw more (my current project will be good for that though).

Hats

I legit don't know why but I almost never give my characters head gear... I can think of 1 character with near-permanent headphones, another with a crown, and 2 that wear hoods frequently. That might be it. Out of like a whooooole bunch of characters.

Facial Hair

This is indicative of many of my characters just not being varied enough, but I was recently made very aware of this fact by a commission series I did where several of the people had facial hair and I'm like " I'm bad at drawing that because I never do..."

Buildings, even though my story takes place in a metropolitan.

Weapons even though my characters are skilled fighters and a lot of action happens in my story too

Monsters Even though I LOVE horror! In fact I am practicing my creature skills during Sketchtober because of this.

Hmmm... Animals. Monsters that don't look highly humanoid. Cars and big machines in general. Weapons (painfully realized this one when I got the thought that my new sort-of magical girl OCs need some weapons...)

Food too, I think? I remember I had to draw some dinner food for one page in my comic, and it just ended up looking like some non-descript blobby substance.

Well, this list probably keeps going on because I strongly doubt my comfort zone is much wider than "young feminine-looking character just standing there", but these are some notable ones.
I still kinda struggle with drawing characters actually physically interacting with each other (it requires so much more planning and thinking in 3D, ughh) but I'm trying.
One of the fun elements of drawing a comic is realizing how many things you can't draw lol...

Front perspective of ANY kind. Surprisingly serious with this, I draw side profiles, top ones, side downwards, blow and I ENJOY it too I just..don't like drawing a person facing forward.

Food I have not found reasons to draw it but I think I will be doing that soon.

Animals I have no problem drawing anthros but the four leggy furry friends I have not done to long as I can imagine so..

Animals: I mostly draw people and, only time to time, draw animals. The only animals to date that I can draw are cats and eagles.

Food: I only drew them twice and far in between.
Books: Same as food, but more in bulk and on bookshelves.

Phones: I draw other electronics, but phones XD

Food: I better get practicing especially since one of my leads has a cooking hobby. I just never had many moments where I needed to draw people eating before he debuted.

Bodies of Water: ...or just water in general. When I do draw it, it just looks like puddles of blue raspberry drink. I've never drawn someone in water at all.

Monsters/Beasts: I do want to get into monster design since I'm planning a magical girl and a fantasy story in the future. But so far I hadn't the need to draw them. My current comic does technically have monsters, but they're more of the amorphous blob type which are easy to draw.

Musical Instruments: Never had the reason to draw them

Surprisingly I rarely draw anything really lately

For me it's buildings, vehicles/machineries, people in romantic/sexual poses (for romance because I feel disgusted, for sexual one because I cannot think of one).

I draw animals but rarely draw horses -- especially if it's galloping and jumping and the view is angled --- I usually have a hard time drawing it, and it takes time... it's manageable but yeah, I don't draw it all the time. But aside from that, I'm good.

Haha, that food and electronics one got me. Literally same, I dunno if I've drawn my characters eating much. Not that I avoid it, I think I just haven't had such a scene so far. I did draw a TV a few times but that's it.

If I can think of something aside from food and electronics:

1. animals and fantasy creatures - I think lot of people relate to this. It's a good place to work on. Should never avoid something just because we lack experience in it This is a fun subject though
2. miscellaneous items. staplers, pencils, eyeglass case (lul), food wrappers, etc. I think this can apply to a lot of people because there's generally no need for such items unless characters are interacting with them for some purpose.
3. high heels. This is something I probably will draw more in the future but I just never really have. I didn't typically make feminine characters, not have experience with wearing heels. Boots are easier to draw. And comfortable. :3

Nudity. I dont have anything against it, just...doesnt really interest me as much now days. I might scribble up something every blue moon, but not often...I'm prone to pushing the envelope than just to draw a full blown nude pic.

Animals. I think since I havent drawn animals on a regular basis(like never), I've subconsciously create stuff where I dont have to draw animals...about to change that in the current chapter of my webcomic; gonna gave to draw a horse- a winged horse.

Motorcycles. I will admit- I hate drawing them coz there's SO MANY parts showing.

Romance:....... I have yet to that scene. sure, I make a panel or two but I want to make developments between the two character's relationship.

Sexual: I am very hesitant to do such a scene.

Sci Fi: I really want to do some sci fi but there is barely if anything I've drawn about it due to my time schedules.

Flowers: I just don’t draw flowers

Usually what falls off my radar in terms of art is certain aspects of fashion. Jewelry? Makeup? High heels? I never wear them, so I frequently forget they exist.

Similarly, I have shockingly few characters with tattoos.

animals: i always drew animals when i was younger but now I draw comics i rarely add them to it
