Tiktok as a promo tool?

So, I have a tiktok account that I never put that much effort in, but any comic related content I create hits more (not viral, but more than usual) views and stuff. So I was wondering if anyone here have tiktok and use it. How you plan your contents and how you explore the trends and stuff.

Mine is kinda random art in English and Portuguese (my native language) because I usually end on my local fy page. But I'm thinking on going full english for now on

i haven't fully dived into it, mostly just observing and also giving my hands a rest, BUT i've noticed a useful way to keep up is watching out for sounds or trends that go viral that are easy to plug your ocs into.

like one big art trend for a bit was the "erasing the sketch to get a finished artwork" thing. nowadays it's stuff that might take a bit more effort (mostly simple editing) but if done well enough can grab folks attention really easily

another thing is feel free to grab the anime fans with sounds or edits related to certain fandoms (if your interested in them at least) the "ganbare ganbare" one with audio from nagatoro and jjk was good for that

i think he only other tips on what to do is going for popular tags so aside from stuff like "fyp" or "foryoupage" things like "artistontiktok" or "artisttok" or even stuff like "animeartist", "comicartist" or something similar just to get you into the right circles

and going back to sounds there's like a big chunk that are just intros for you the artist/writer or to show of your work so mixing those in with trending music sounds is a great way to slip into some of the niche corners of tiktok and spread more easily. even those "every friend group has" sound are useful because you can plug in which ocs fit into those labels.

if you really wanna hit something that's still got steady momentum right now i'm pretty sure the adult swim bumper meme is still going strong so some aesthetic music and your choice of artwork + the proper gimmick is 100% an available option

when/if ever i get around to actually uploading more stuff i'm hoping to post a mix of original content with ocs and comic art and then tossing in the occasional fanart. in the long run i might give simple animations a shot alongside little gifs or speedpaints set to some of the indie music stuff on tiktok

Thats why I love Tiktok more than Instagram. It's so easy to get views, no matter how new you are, on Tiktok. My instagram may as well be invisible.

But about how many of the viewers turn into comic subscribers is probably close to none lol.

At least I gain new Tiktok subscribers tho.

tik tok is region based . you may check you profile stats to see where the views are from. You will never get to global recomendations even if you switch to english.... unless you become extremely popular in your region first. there are tonns of videos which describes tik tok algorithm.

I like tiktok, it's pretty fun!
I haven't made many comic videos, (i mainly do general art videos) but i am planning on doing more comic videos
for the longest time, one of my comic videos did quite well on both insta and tiktok (it got ~600 views on both)

I like to use different sounds from challenges and i'm also planning on making some of my own challenges as well

I made that TikTok account to try to promote my comic but to tell you the truth I have no idea if it's actually working or not, I feel like is really hard to get people to get out of TikTok and come into tapas or webtoon to check out the comic.

I think going english will help you to develop your account even quicker. Many people around the world, including Europe, developing countries, and almost all the countries in the world have people who learn English to get a better job to be able to communicate with foreign companies or study it to move to USA/UK and study there, and for other reasons. So I think your content will be more popular, and you'll get more followers. You could also buy tiktok followers to make the process quicker, and people like subscribing to accounts, which already are popular more

I don't have much luck with tiktok, but it does seem to get some peoples attention and a lot of the videos are fun to make. I've had more luck with instagram reels, but its very hit or miss most of the time. Funny enough, reddit has been where I've had the most success lol

If you want to post on tiktok in english, you need a vpn, firefox has a lot of free vpns. You download a vpn plugin and change location to UK or US
