Yeah, sarcasm about the limits of software only works when everyone is aware of it.

It was basically one political and social polemic after another wrapped up in a smiling scifi setting.

This can work well, Star Trek and The Twilight Zone were both vehicles for polemics, but I simply didn't feel like my writing was able to do it with any sort of cleverness.
