My Opinion
Selena Gomez is the BEST female singer of all time. Yep I said it. Beyoncé? Trash. Tailor Swift? Never heard of 'em. Katy Perry? More like "Trashy Perry". (I actually like Katy and Beyoncé.)

I'm generally of the belief that people should listen to whatever they want to. Being an elitist is exhausting lol so uhhh.. Here's my two cents

Country music receives way more backlash than it should. Like, no lie, it's somewhat unsettling how universal it seems to be to say you either hate it or that you "like all music except country". I personally don't listen to it, but the bits that I've listened to were not even close to being bad imo

When someone tells you about a band they like and you've never heard of them.... maybe don't respond by calling yourself old or uncool or whatever? I mean, it just... it's kind of uncomfortable, and it probably just means your talking to someone (like me) with weird taste. Just... don't take what others say/do/like as a reason to self deprecate. I guess that's my unpopular opinion.

Unpopular opinion: I don't hate Nickelback. I actually like quite a few of their tracks.

Not sure if this is considered an Unpopular opinion BUT: you can send me all the song recommendations you want and I don’t care because I will never listen to any of them :+1:

I have zero idea why would anyone hate Nickelback. They are like, absolutely typical alternative rock band??? And those are usually pretty okay on average.

Funny thing, that hate shifted to Imagine Dragons for being generic arena rock and now it's shifted to Trapt for.. a really problematic vocalist in charge of their Twitter account :unamused: That hate's not even about the music anymore, but let's be real their music ain't exactly selling venues anymore lmao

What really shouldn't be unpopular but apparently is given the amount of times I've seen this happen irl: if someone recommends you a band/song or even pulls it up for you to listen or shows you an example of music they like, don't respond by telling them it sounds weird or by rolling your eyes or something similar. The amount of times I see shit like this at my work place.

Also, foreign music is just as good as American/English music. The amount of bands I've introduced people to and been met with "wow they sound just like an actual band". Really? Just because they don't speak English doesn't mean they can't play and are really alien and weird. A had a friend once say "Japanese music isn't my thing" and I was like wow does that mean English music isn't my thing. It's not all the same just because you've heard a few anime examples. And why is not understand the lyrics of Asian music a dumb modern teen embarrassing thing, but not understand the lyrics of opera an upper class, refined thing that shows you have taste?

Also OP is blantantly wrong and Nana Mizuki is the best female singer of all time fight me.

Oh my god I love Nickelback! But not in like an “AAAAAHHHH OMG ITS THEM!” kind of way, more like I just own all their albums and sing along to their songs on the way to work sometimes.

Vocaloids that still have the mechanical tint in thier vocals are still amazing in song.

Also Masa's early onbi series music are still good music (spider and the kituse like lion)...despite their graphic lyrics and lower sound quality.

I would rather rave to classical music and movie scores then a pop song I'm going to hate in two weeks. Yeah, I said it, lol.

This is very true. I always get hate from my friends for listening to Persona's music.

Not to be a Grammar Nazi, but I think you misspelled Selena Gomez.

only because a singer/band/whatever is super popular and you don't like/you hate their music doesn't mean their music is horrible and that they are 'overrated', it just means that your taste is different and there is nothing wrong with that.

Ooooh boy, I have a few, lol.

  • You can be a metalhead and still like pop music. Or any genre other than metal. That doesn't make you a "fake fan" or a "poser".

  • Also, you don't need to "look" a certain way to be a metalhead. Shocking, I know.

  • YES, there are good metal bands that formed after 1990. Quite a lot of them, actually. Check 'em out, you may even like some.

  • Mixing entirely different music genres in the same song is not the end of the world.

THANK YOU :tada: :tada: :tada:

My unpopular (?) opinion is that I like Pentatonix covers better than the original songs 98% of the time

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but I like to listen to video game music to relax, to get myself in a certain mindset when writing (epic music for more adventurous moments, sad music for sad moments), I have almost always enjoyed video game music even if some other elements of a game aren't to my liking. I will listen to relaxing video game music at work even.
