OK so I'm going to try breaking this down as clearly as I can.

I'm an author with experience in writing and graphic design. Lately, I've been contemplating the idea of making a visual novel game. Now while I believe I have enough skill to write a story with branching paths and interesting dialogs, I know that I'm lacking on the art side. Most of my training is in branding, logos, and things of that nature. I sometimes do character art, but because it's not my bread and butter, it often takes a lot more time and effort. If I had an abundance of time, then maybe I could do the art by myself. But I don't have enough time to devote to the art while also handling the writing.

What I'm looking for is a partner to assist me. Let me be clear, your main job would be drawing assets, characters, and backgrounds, but you wouldn't be doing so alone.

If I had to break it down
When it comes to the writing, I would handle 100% of the work. When it comes to the art, you would handle about 75 maybe 80 % and I would handle the other 25 or 20% . When it comes to actually assembling the game (making it playable, adding music, transitions, all of that) I would handle most of the work but I'd from time to time want your help there as well.

I know this is a lot of work to ask for another person to do, but I am willing to somewhat pay to start this partnership. I know it's not much, but I would be willing to pay you $150 just to have you join me. If during our work you can't handle it, or you simply want to give up, you can take the $150 and leave. I won't use any art or assets you made either. But if you stick around till the end of the project, we'll sell copies of the game and split any revenue made 50/50.

I know it's not a lot, but it's what I can offer. I would hope that someone could see the potential of making a project together rather than focusing on the small compensation I'm offering to get you on board.

It won't be easy. It'll take time to get to a finished product. But we could make something, fun, cool, and hopefully profitable.

If you're even the least bit interested, let me know and we can go from there. I'm open to having multiple artists, of course that would change a few things, but I'm open to it. And if you're a person interested in being a part of this in another way, please let me know.

I don't know if anyone will bite this hook, but I'm optimistic.

Also, just so you know what kind of story/game we would be working on. Right now I'm thinking of a sort of dating Sim, where one of the main objectives the player would try to achieve is getting romantically close to characters. I'd like for there to fantasy elements involved, maybe something science fiction. It wouldn't be a mystery, but there would be things to uncover. It might veer into adult content, such as language and situations. But again, I'm looking for a partner, so we would discuss these things and come to an agreement on them together.

[Update-

I was not expecting so many people to be interested, but I'm glad that you all are. Like I said, I'm open to having more than one artist join me, probably 2 at most. If I were to do that, I'd have to split the 150 between you, so you'd both get $75 just to join the team, and if we get to the point where we can sell the game any revenue would be split 3 ways. I'd probably have one person work primarily on character art and the other on backgrounds.

Does this sound good to you guys?]

Not sure if it's the best place too search for your partner, as most of the forum users are webcomic creators busy with their own projects
I'd suggest going to https://www.develteam.com/19 sharing more details about your idea and maybe contacting some artists there looking for a project to work on directly

I thought asking here was a good idea because I like some of the people I've met through the forums. I'm searching other places as well, but I didn't want to leave tapas out.

Fair ;p it could be just my recent experience of taking hiatus from 2/3 of my webcomics to make a visual novel for a jam speaking...

Hello,
i'm interested to work with you
Making visual game is really amazing , i know it takes a lot of time !! but it will be a good experience.
I'd like to work with characters design
This is my portfolio:

Hey, I'd like to know more details on how much work would there be to do, how many assets would be necessary etc.
I can make character art (I'm generally best at drawing feminine humanoid characters, but willing to branch out a bit if needed) and background art. You can see examples of my work here https://frgmnt.carrd.co/#ex7 and more on my twitter https://twitter.com/silentfrgmnt/5

I actually do create a lot of character designs and art, but I'm not too experienced in visual game elements. If you have any more info about what kind of artwork you're specifically looking for, that would be helpful! I typically allow commissioners to use the final product without credit, but most are kind enough to credit me anyway.
Here's some examples (I haven't uploaded recent works but I can send those separately if preferred): https://www.deviantart.com/sorible12

Thanks, I'll check out your art and if it lines up with what I'm going for I'll let you know.

I'd be interested as a game designer and publisher. Although I'm currently in the works of another game. I can be of use to some capacity. I also just started my own company, primarily for developing and publishing games, anime and comics. So working on Visual Novels would be an interesting opportunity.

Hello! I'm interested in your project, although I was wondering if you had a particular schedule in mind or how much you time you expect dedicated to the project?

Here are some examples of my art, regardless: https://patroklos-art.carrd.co/14

I can add more funds to increase that incentive. As long as you're putting together a small team.

I've alredy send you a message with my portafolio, and I'm fine with it
