Hey, um- I too love comics with beautiful artwork, but I feel it is worth pointing out that
is not a topic strictly speaking, anymore than a comic containing straight or cisgender people qualifies as a topic on its own? The reason why some creators describe their comic as queer at all is simply to point out that the story is centered around characters who are a part of the LGBTQ community, since we don't see a whole lot of representation in mainstream comics. This doesn't necessarily speak to the themes or narrative of the comic itself, anymore than every comic where the central characters are straight can be expected to revolve entirely around their attraction to the opposite gender?
So perhaps you can see how what might seem to you like an innocent question can be interpreted as...well, rather differently, shall we say. If you are having trouble seeing what I mean, I suggest taking that sentence and substituting it for another group identity. If I were, for example, to say "I would like to see comics with good art- so long as they don't have any Germans in them" you can see how that might come off badly. Especially when the word "queer" has a very difficult history, and people who are part of the LGBTQ community use it as a way of reclaiming it.
Sorry if I'm coming off as trying to speak for other people here, by the way- I really am speaking just from my own perspective as a queer creator.
