Well yeah, they haven't changed almost at all apart from text and icons becoming bit smaller.

I subscribe this! (pun intended)

I would like to agree to disagree on that one. Have you seen what it looks like while actually reading a comic? It's completely different.

The most troublesome thing to me is that clicking on a comic now takes you to an episode list rather than having that on the left while loading up the most recently read or latest comic. Every extra click a user needs to make to check out a comic is poison to creators looking to get noticed. The information that used to be viewable from one page (episode list, comic info, comic itself) is now spread across three, that's absolutely bizarre. By all means, have the option to hide that stuff, but don't add extra steps between a new reader and the comic.

I did not expect this at all, it's such a blatant Webtoon ripoff that it's not even funny. When this happened to Smackjeeves like a month ago I left the site immediately.

Luckily I didn't know the old Smackjeeves, so the new design wasn't a problem for me. But I've been using Tapas for more than a year and this change makes me actually mad.

You mean Tapas doesn't care about the smaller comics, instead concentrating their efforts to herd traffic toward the moneymakers while ignoring the smaller, less popular comics?!
Surely not!

Ah, well, sure, that part is totally different =) I mean just the overall page with userpic, your series, library and dashboard button looks the same.

Yep, and I can't help but notice the next chapter/page no longer loads automatically when you scroll down past the end of the current one. Also the previous/next buttons disappear entirely unless you're at the top of the page or down past the comments. It's pretty garbage.

I just noticed this and it made me sad :frowning:

I think the only good thing about this layout is that we can now change between free and premium. Since more and more premium content is being poured out the small creators had less and less chance to make it to the popular page.

I'd love for tapas to switch back to it's old FINE layout but keep that switch option in.

I just hope this layout won't make it harder for people to find new creatos and comics with smaller audiences...

Luckily, I had a chance for my comic to gain a good amount of subscribers before the update. But new creators are going to have a hard time.

But it will make it harder.

Also, I just noticed we can't see scheduled comics anymore =.=

Fml.

The subscribe button is playing hide & seek...

And now just reaching the next chapter feels like it has two more steps. :')

It's really hard to navigate now. There's no option to look at the comic episode list when viewing a comic and the series banner disappearing makes no sense at all. So much blank white space, I assumed my laptop was broken at first.

User interface changes should not result in increased user clicks for typical content navigation . Auto hiding of frames, requiring an additional click when accessing a favorite, rather than going directly to the resumption from the last reading, and the removal of the next unread item in the user library at the bottom of the page together constitute a 400% increase in user clicks to effect the same navigation in the previous design. Furthermore, the removal of the number of unread comics in the library icon dis-incentivizes checking the library.

One of the major advantages that Tapas had over other platforms was excellent navigation efficiency. The current changes may alienate users and drive them to other platforms, rather than incentivize browsing and revenue-generating activities as planned.

It is suggested that the above issues be addressed.

I didn't see that until you mentioned it, so thanks. But it's really tiny and is just a symbol rather than the left hand list (with all the previews) that was there only yesterday. That was so much easier to understand, especially for novices.
