not yet for the desktop version, i go on, click a comic and it loads... the moment i attempt to scroll down it completely crashed my internet browser

Ok so like, now that it's been 2 days, I'm kind of getting used to it. Although I miss the old design, I think this one will do just fine. But I really hate how it makes it harder for new creators to get started. The page layout while actually reading is terrible.

Yeah when I woke up at like 4 yesterday from a bad dream, I decided to go read some comics to calm my mind or whatever, and I open it up to see this. Turns out I was probably one of the first people to see the new design because it changed only a few minutes before I opened Tapas.

I think this might vary from person to person, ive got a drop of viewership since the update but unlike you i only have one webcomic I’m updating, the new algorithm could be really great for people with multiple web comics but poor for those who have a single one? It’s hard to tell without knowing the statistics

Nothing fishy about my stats. It seems like the same. I’ll wait until Monday where I upload again to see if there are any difference.

Same. Though, it wasn't like they were up to being with lol

We're on the the same boat.
Ahoy!!!

I'm guessing they're working on things right now? I'm not seeing any ads on the website or app. :blank: I'll be avoiding catching up on things until those are back.

Anyone else having a completed comic that's now nowhere to be found?
I already see my views on it decreasing, I'm worried...

BURN!
but yes, why make everything the same? I joined Tapas because of it special (unique) features!! I mean the difference to other websites!
It will be the same if I decide to move to webtoons now?

All my stats are pretty much the same, but the views are pretty high. But that's probably because I updated yesterday.

Please take it easy with the stats. A lot of things can play in here. Not just the design.
Give the stats a week to see the effect.

Thank you so much. I'm shocked at the people talking down Comicfury. A site that allows you to block genres you don't want to see on your own front page (you can also block for various mature settings- so if there is a particular kind of mature subject you don't want to see, like heavy violence (there is actually a leveled difference), you can!). You can block specific comics!

Comicfury doesn't put features behind paywalls. People who donate to the site are just for the servers because they aren't going tot get favourtism on the front page. If someone is having difficulty creating their site and the community can't help- the owner, Kyo, HELPS.

What drama I see pop up there I haven't seen any different from other creative forums. Comicfury is smaller but that comes from the fact that it requires people to spread the word, because Kyo doesn't advertise.

I'm all up for updates. I can adapt to new UI alright. New habits can form. But I'm getting really sick of sites removing custom options from creators and calling it an upgrade.

Can I even put this in Dark Mode on desktop? I'm blinded each time I use the site.

Where's the black and yellow? Please, the old version was better.

Not to mention, I have a fairly ok computer...but I LAG. I FREAKING LAG.

The lag is crazy. I thought it was due to all the necessary loading of new elements, so I did not initially complain about that, but after using for a few hours, no change whatsoever.

I'm gonna drop some stats here - across the board on series between a new series (launched on the new UI) to Premium to an un-updated F2R series. I haven't got data on a recently updated series on my platform yet but just to give you an idea:

To give you an idea, I took stats from 1st March, 3rd March and 5th March and it will look like [1 Mar Stat] | [2 Mar Stat] | [3 Mar Stat]. To give a matter of perspective, I have over 14k subscribers total so it's more about stats increases and decreases than concrete numbers here.

F2R - Vee - not updated since Sunday

Views: [213] | [50] | [57]
Likes: [38] | [5] | [2]
Subs: [12] | [2] | [4]

Overall, on the free-to-reads, I've noticed that there's a trend upwards on subscribers again after the initial panic over the site change. I think the initial dip is due to readers not necessarily reading over the last few days, but instead clicking about and just getting used to things/exploring and the usual mid-week dip in reading figures. I'll try updating Vee soon and see what happens on an update day for an established series. But in general, while a little worrying, I'll worry more if I don't get back to those bolded stats after a few weeks.

F2R - Dreamers of Draiocht - New under new UI

Views: [N/A] | [N/A] | [92]
Likes: [N/A] | [N/A] | [11]
Subs: [N/A] | [N/A] | [72]

If I add in today's subs as well, I think I'm almost at 90 subs in 24 hours. My last series exploded faster, but it had a much more BL heavy cover and was isekai so... All in all, new works don't seem to be affected and appear to be growing at the same rate as before with little change under the new system.

I'm not going to do a full release on my Premium series stats as I'm not sure what's considered 'business information' for Tapas, but I'll say that views are down but subscribers are up on the Premium series I checked on my account - mirroring what I found on F2R series.

It'll take a good few weeks though, to see what this data means. Right now, I just think it's evidence of people being spooked.

Just a clarification: this is not responsive design. Responsive design means making the app or website respond to aspect ratios and screen sizes--things like automatically using smaller icons on PC or popping in a sidebar on a wide screen. This is just blind "one size fits all." Also, nearly everything people are complaining about is equally bad design in a mobile app as it is in a website.
