I canât believe the statement of $80k per month. Thatâs an insane amount of money, even if you are super popular
$20k sounds realistic for a popular indie artist. But I canât buy 80k, nope, nopety, no (although it does sound like a charming income and provides a hopeful future in webcomics...)
We nevere were promoted or received any help from webtoons, but managed to go up to 8k subscribers. In May we finally had enough views to be at least eligible for the pledge. Ok, it was $0, but the green marked words were really nice to see
Itâs bitter to see the pledge slipping away from us...twice (we nearly made it to 5k subscribers before they raised the bar in the beginning of the year )
Iâm quite positive with the idea of ad-revenue. However, thinking about our double disappointment so far, I bet there will be another hook to the whole thing. You probably need a certain amount of views, subs or ad-income (min. Payout like on Tapas perhaps?) to receive a payout. That idea scares me already. It was so hard to get the subs and views we have at this moment (and growth in the past days got even more difficult).
At this point I just hope the new system will also help smaller creators and not only the big ones
