I think our group's comic really has the 99 to 112 year old demographic on lockdown.

Not so much any other demographic.

ive had this conversation with a teacher before, its hard to say for sure how old my readers are but the people i see actively engaging with it tend to be late teens to early twenties. i imagine my work appeals mainly to a younger demographic; the characters are young and emotionally immature, and the comic itself tracks my own development from a mewling 16 year old to the very mature and enlightened (s) 19 year old that i am today.

This is from the fb page for the comic (I post the comics here too)

So around 18-24 majority XD

I don't know my age demographic (but now I do want to find out...), but a publisher I shortly talked with at a conference said my work would probably appeal to 16 yo girls, sooo them I suppose?

I try to market my novels to NA and YA, but I think anyone 16+ could probably enjoy it! But so really don’t have much of a clue :sweat_smile:Maybe I could do a poll?

Based on Google Analytics and other apps used on Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram, it appears that the mean audience ranges from 13 to 18 and then 28 to 34.

I was aiming for mid to late teens, but it looks like I have a decent amount of 9-13yr olds too... Not gonna lie, I definitely toned down some of the more heavy stuff after I realized that.

I would have to assume that most of my audience is 18+ because I have a mature filter on most of my writing here. Other than that, there doesn't seem to be a way to tell on Tapas.

🤷 Tapas doesn't give statistics about it, but I assume students and adults?

My demographic tends to lean younger to young adult. (something like 11-25).

I only know this cause I talk to my readers and have a discord. I don't target a certain demographic because I don't mind who reads it/it doesn't matter who reads it because it's a generally pretty all round likeable topic/theme. I will say that I started censoring/avoiding swearing when I noticed how many young people were reading my comic. But that's about it.

But yes, I think the more all round likeable/relatable your theme/topic is, the more some people will like your comic. My latest comic did just that and appealed to a broad spectrum so I did really really well. My other comic that did well as also a comedy. Again, many people like that. The others I did were a drama/romance, fantasy/action, but they were all very... lore based or slow etc. and they didn't do as well.

I wish I knew the statistics for Tapas though :''D that would be an interesting feature

I honestly haven't posted much online story wise yet, but I've gotten a lot of feedback from people I know in real life. Though my work varies greatly, it always seems to hold a cynical and/or surrealist tone to it, so it can often be described as weird. I try to have a little something in there for all ages, but I can never seem to get anyone over the age of 40 to get involved and interested in my work unless it's a poem, monologue, or short story (which tend to be more straightforward and sometimes cliche) It's intriguing to say the least.

I try to aim for young adult's, though. I like being simultaneously immature and deep af when I write. Not too cutesy, not too droopy. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be...

Heyyy AdrenalineShots! Love your work!

As for Age Range, I really don't know. I like to make colorful cartoons and novels for anyone to pick up and watch. Sometimes, I go a little crazy with what I'm writing because I love and miss a big variety of slapstick violence, action, and strange weirdness in works mixed together.

Kids can love the colorful, consistent designs and the personalities, and the wacky antics. While adults can love the retro-feel in the art style and jokes too, as well as the more crazy moments that you'd think you're watching a short from the 1940s/1960s, or a '90s & early 2000s cartoon.

Basically, anyone can pick it up and jump into the madness... because I sure as heck ain't slowing down in seeing how far I can go with them.

What's fun without going a little insane?

I cater more towards 13-18 year olds according to Wattpad statistics.

For every female reader, I have 1.5 male readers. Come on ladies, why don't you like scifi?

Ladies like romance. If you have a romance, then the majority of female readers no longer matter what genre it is (fantasy, sifi, post-apocalypse, or other.)

I like sci-fi. Try to add the link to your profile, so more ladies from this forum could check it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Not sure what the age demographic is concerning my readers, but I try to aim for a more mature audience. From late teens to early thirties.
