Hey lol I watch Boruto weekly as well. I feel like I can give some input on this lol
I gotta say part of it for me comes down to low expectations. I was made aware of the fact that it was aimed at a younger demographic back then (younger than the demographic for Naruto) and combining that with the in-world explanation of newfound peace between the major villages.. I was expecting the whole show to be more tame in the action department. Naruto and Boruto just aren't meant to be comparable imo. The manga and anime are spin-offs, but not canonically connected in my head, if that makes sense?
That said, the manga's legitimately better, but it's updated through monthly chapters.. which is a lot less story to cover in 4 years. And that bleeds into the Studio Pierrot's adaptation since they decided to make it on-going nonstop like they did with Naruto. However, in the past year, they've been making the huge efforts to not only adapt the manga but to also expand on it by adding more material in between arcs occasionally. Eh.. it's hit or miss. Anyways-
It's sort of a hard sell either way, but if somebody were to decide to give it a shot, now's an especially good time. There's two different anime filler lists available online (one for anime canon, one for manga adaptation) and 61 chapters currently out for the manga. We just caught up to chapter 43 in the anime, and it seems like we'll be catching up a bit more in tomorrow's episode~
