Some advice for this job market... look at your local job postings and ask yourself if you can do those jobs. And sometimes you have to take jobs you absolutely hate. And put up with shitty coworkers and bosses.
Be like water. And follow path of least resistance. Adapt. Take the door that is closest and likely to open. Don't target which door you wanna open.
I never really dreamed of being a welder-sandblaster unlike most kids who love racing and monster trucks that usually get interested in this.
Started out as a warehouse worker and was planning to be a truck driver if opportunity opened. But it didn't. So got another warehouse job that was in a factory. Then kept being moved around and learning how to operate various industrial machines, power tools, and sure enough found myself welding before I knew it. Due to volunteering for the jobs and shifts nobody liked. That's how I was able to establish value and climb.
And before I know it, I'm making more money than some people who been to 4 years of university or college.
