Weird habits? Well, hope you've got time, 'cause this could take a while! XD

1. When I sit at my desk, I always fold up my right leg and tuck my right foot in under my left leg. Never the other way around. I tried doing it the wrong way around, and it felt deeply, deeply wrong.

2. I hold my pen like this:

3. I tell myself stories. Like, out loud. All the time. The moment I find myself alone, I start telling stories. Part of it is me figuring out parts of how my comics should go - like, trying out dialogue to see if it works, pacing through fight-scenes to get the choreography right, doing trial runs of scenes to figure out the best way to tell them, etc. - but a lot of it is just an incessant need to tell stories.

I've got fictional universes in my head that will never turn into stories I share with other people - they're just there to entertain me, or help me kill some time.

It's also a way to cope with stress and anxiety. When I was young, my parents used to read bedtime stories to me. I just kep the habit up by telling those bedtime stories to myself. It helps ease me into falling asleep.

i make up a lot of superstitions and then follow them like its life or death.
-like never stand over/on a crack while a door is closing
-if you can fit a full unbroken chip into yur mouth without breaking it before chewing then its good luck
-when eatin little bite-sized things like jelly beans or gummy bears always make sure the last bite of the last snack is on the side of the mouth thats in the direction of yur loved ones. yaknow to protect them or somethin
-swing keys in front of you to help with travel
more stuff too but i cant thinka it right now

When I'm thinking a lot, for example for story plot points, I tend to pace around the house a lot.
My dad thinks it's really weird...

Well I have Aspergers so with that comes some strange habits.
Avoiding eye contact, walking on my toes, pacing around the room, etc. but other than that I have one that I don't think is related to autism.

I hold all my drawing utensils like this. I've had a lot of people over the years tell me that was weird xD

I knead my lip with my fingers when my left hand isn't in use for anything....never with my right hand. And it's pretty much guaranteed if I'm sitting or not moving, and I'm not doing anything with my left hand like typing or holding on to something, my left fingers (thumb and 1st finger) are kneading my lower lip. If I'm standing but not moving, I'll fold my arms and support my left arm with my right just to knead my lip. Most of the time I don't even realize I'm doing it

I yell random anime/youtube/whatever quotes at random times. Or just scree.

"Are you feeling it now Mr. Krabs??!!"

I talk to myself alot as if im acting out future scenes in my comic i often have to make sure no one is around or listening.
When my allergies start acting crazy i put a piece of tape over my mouth so im forced to breath through my nose.
I skip words when i type.

Okay, a lot of us talk to ourselves, this is awesome. I really think that talking to yourself helps you sort out things in your stories, yeah? It's weird but super helpful.

Other than that... HMM. Heh, I have to roll my sleeves up when I work. I'm SO PROFESSIONAL, I go serious business mode and push those buggers up to my elbows before I start drawing, painting, sketching, etc. It's an annoying feeling to have my arms and hands covered while I work.

Which also sucks because I need a brace sometimes and I CANNOT draw with it on. I turn into a cat forced to wear clothes -- freeze up, fall to the side, remain helpless.

I have a bad habit of picking thing up with my feet if it's out of my hand's reach... some people don't like it I KNOW IT CAN BE GROSS (according to my sister) but I swear I keep myself very clean >_>

Also this is not a weird habit but I zone out a lot when working on my art, most of the time getting distracted by youtube video or just simply doing smth unproductive thing like staring at my screen for several minutes....

I subconsciously keep my hands against my chest like a squirrel, people have pointed it out and I have noticed myself in that position, I might be turning into a squirrel person

Narrating pieces of dialogue seems to be normal around here

@jutawi I start soft-screaming ora ora ora when things get stuck or are to heavy, luckily there aren't other weebs around me so no one knows what it means

When home alone, I sometimes scream random things and make other strange noises.

I catch myself talking out loud and sometimes reliving embarrassing conversations. Sometimes I don't even realize a conversation was bothering me until I randomly speak a portion of it out loud. Usually I'm alone when this happens, but every now and then there is someone there and I get some weird looks.

Right before getting to bed, I enjoy "acting".
Like, I'm in bed, all snuggly and cozy, but bed is still not warm enough.
So I move around a bit, while imagine doing things, like... Uh... mostly conversations, where I act out more or less.
Difficult to explain, but it helps me getting to know my own characters (AHAHA LOL NO THEY ACT ALL ON THEIR OWN ON THE PAPER ANYWAY).

I do make weird noises everytime I cringe. Does that count? xD

My weird ass habits are universal to everyone that lives in my house. We get them all from mom, I don't know how dad puts up with us.

-Give voices / personalities to all the animals in the house to make them talk to me when no one is home, or talk to other people in my house, with everyone in my house doing the exact same thing and giving the animals voices to talk back.

Each animal as a specific voice, tone, attitudes and sometimes accents that everyone in the house will mimic and stick to, it does not change between people.

-Someone in my house will just randomly break into song, it will not be a known song it'll be one they are making up on the spot right then. I or someone else will join in, making up lyrics as we sing along, then another. Sometimes someone will join in twice more more by adding the animal voices. It continues until someone gets stuck in thinking up and verse and ruins the song.

-Just... randomly making noises as you go through the house. If someone else is doing it we end up facing off as we randomly make noises at each other that progressively gets louder and more screechy until one of us either stops and continues on their way or can't go any higher.

Short of lately the "skipping words" thing has become an issue for me. It's like I'm trying to type as fast as my thoughts process.

UM ARE WE RELATED

seriously though, my mom started all the animal-voice things in our home, too! The guinea pigs especially had a very specific style of weird broken English that we all used for them.

Along with making random noises, busting into song (sorry tenant, hope he doesn't think I'm a squawking bird), calling out my hamster "POTATOOOO" out of nowhere in a high pitched voice you tend to speak to animals with.
And, I tend to stand on the outer sides of my feet if that makes any sense. I do it unconsciously, maybe to avoid getting dirt on the bottoms of my feet, I don't wear slippers very much

It's really contagious isn't it? When my bro moved out with his cat his room mate thought it was they weirdest thing. Then he started doing it too... at one point he got mad at the cat, because he and the cat where the only ones home, so he was having a 'conversation' with him, and the 'cat' called him a unacceptable slur. Causing the room mated to walk out saying '**** you, I'm not talking to you anymore" only for the room mate to realized about ten mins later that the cat's voice was his own, and he had gotten into a fight with and insulted himself.
