What book or comic got you into art?

Faith Erin Hicks actually got me into comics. I loved Demonology 101 but the one that REALLY got me into comics? An unfinished work by her called 'ICE'. It was intriguing, a little dark and with compelling characters, after reading it I knew I wanted to do something like it.

Early influences were the VERY EARLY Megatokyo strips and hilariously enough, the Archie Comics. (I loved the Betty & Veronica series a lot more but the mainstream comics were what got me into character driven stories in the first place)

Not a comic or book really but TV. All the cartoons I watched (Arthur in particular) made me want to create my own stories.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sonic the Hedgehog, Ronin Warriors, and Dragon Ball got me into art. Dragon Ball Z and Bleach made me start taking it more seriously. Marvel Comics, not the cartoons, have me wanting to take my art skills to higher levels.

Omg, Bleach.... That was my favorite series. The only characters I loved were Yourichi and Aizen after he went badass. I was a big Rukia and Ichigo shipper back then.

At school I had a friend who forced me to watch Pokémon (and later Digimon) with her. At that time I thought Animes were SO not cool, but then I started to get interested in the stories... and suddenly I found myself tracing Pokémon and designing own Digimon characters.

Only a few episodes =/ Back then I couldn't get my hands on the DVD boxes and the... well, "security discs" (cough) from friends with the episodes on them were too much for my computer (couldn't handle episodes with more than 50MB, and each Kenshin was ~190MB XD)

Never got around to catch up on the anime, but I think I'll do that soon, now that I have a little spare time! I really loved the Manga, or at least until the Shishio Arc ended =)

It was always comics like the Cartoon Network Block Party, and Hanna-Barbera (under Cartoon Network) comics that always got me into art.

The TV shows and animation already inspired the style I've always wanted in my art, but the comic art solidified it all for me. The inking, the lining, and the expressions always gave me more of a laugh. Sometimes more than the dialogue.

this is kind of embarrassing, but in middle school I had an obsession with the warrior cats series... that was my inspiration for making stories focused on animals back then.
