What do you struggle with drawing the most? (in comics or in gen)

personally i REALLLLLLY suck at doing backgrounds, buildings specifically
its mostly because until recently i hadnt realized that id nvr really practiced perspective and buildings until i started doing my comic

so suddenly there i was finding it a struggle to do scenery and having to research and learn all these things because it didnt occur to my dumb self that a story needs at least some form of background work

the process is still grueling to do now but its fun seeing the end result of course!

so, what do you hate drawing?

Furniture, buildings, any kind of inanimate object, and nondescript crowd characters.

Inside perspectives (rooms etc) especially if it's not a typical squarish room or a long corridor.

3/4 view of birds' bills (why on Earth did I put so many birds in my comic?). That one is so bad I bought some modelling clay to make a model.

For me it's mostly backgrounds and avante'guard poses. Anatomy isn't really my strong point but I'm trying to solve that.

Three way tie between hands/feet/and stuff in perspective...I can fudge stuff and make it seem like it looks right, but I really want to do dynamic expressive hands and feet if I ever draw bare feet in my comics. Perspective- I get the general mechanics of it, but I really have no patience for it when drawing it in comics, so I tend to use grids & stuff to help me out.

Backgrounds, hands, feet, drawing objects in perspective, interesting poses I don't think it's a bad idea to use comics as a means to improve tho- Usually a lot of artists improve over the course of their comic and it's cool to witness.

Yup, background. I hate doing it, because for some reason I could never be able to get the perspective right. I have a hard time understanding perspective for some reason.

If I wanna be able to get the perspective right for anything, heavy sketching with a lot of trial lines is all I could do to find the right angle and stuff. That's one tedious and frustrating things because it's hard to find the right lines.

I feel like I'm getting better at drawing backgrounds, technically speaking... but I don't especially enjoy actually taking the time to draw them, so I usually end up skimping out on 90% of the details, lol.

But some things I'm definitely not great at drawing are animals, cars, uhh technology in general... fashion?? What do people even wear, I have no clue

This is my first comic, so I Struggle with everything: perspective, composition, anatomy, dynamics, objects, crowds... ok maybe I'm just good at color combination and drawing floofy hair.
Some of you struggle with the backgrounds and perspective but you seem to succeed, congratulations! I fail every time.

ive heard some ppl kind of solve it by playing the sims? like building how they want the room to look, then they can just use the camera to do whatever perspective they want?? havent tried it myself tho ^^;;

i really used to hate drawing hands and feet too

i'd argue that working on comics helps you improve faster too since you have to juggle a bit of everything!

@AmysGames i think it's interesting that you have a hard time with fashion? ive honestly never heard that before??? but its also probably because i love drawing characters in different styles of clothing ^^;; if it really is a problem though i recommend you look at online magazines and clothing stores, or places like instagram maybe where ppl are 'trending' styles. i like asian fashion in particular! especially seoulfashionweek stuff!

@amortelito this is my first comic too ;;;; honestly regretting not experimenting with trying to make smaller comics first or something because boy is this hard. at least we have the good color and floof hair combo going on

the anatomy of clothes being worn lol
the wrinkles I do are so repetitive and lazy aaa it sucks : ( Always to keep in mind what kind of clothing it is if its thick or thin,, it will def depend on the wrinkles and folds.
Even skirtsss aaa, I know the only way is to find more references on clothing but I get lazy mostly pff

Backgrounds can be a little problem for me but we had subjects on how to do these including perspectives here in college so it saved me mostly lol.

What makes me struggle in drawing is the lack of references I have. I can't draw purely without having fresh references from my head or having references with me.

Sometimes my drawings look less realistic because of this lmao

I suck at backgrounds as well. I can imagine them clearly in my head but when I put it on paper, my ability to draw minimizes lol I also have a hard time with designing architecture...
