Hi guys, here's some concept art I'm doing for a new character in my comic. I wanted to know what you guys thought about him? Do you like the design, what can you tell me about my character, etc?

I made a collage of all the concept art and started to make his character sheet.

Here's a link to my comic for anyone that's interested.

Edit: Hey guys I wanted to let everyone know, that I saw the critiques and I will be going back to the drawing board to fix up the design a lot more. Many of you pointed things out I never thought about and opened my eyes to a lot of the flaws in the design. So when I'm done redesigning the character art, I'll post a link to the redesign to show the improvements. Again thank you all very much.

Here's the link to the updated art- https://forums.tapas.io/t/what-do-you-think-of-my-new-characters-concept-art-part-2/617811

To tell the truth, I am confused, because he looks like a 8 y.o. girl in a disguise (the cloak having a bell shape adds to it) also wearing no pants as I see from the picture, so kinda gives me the flasher vibe together with this smile :grimacing: Maybe it would be better if you tell us about him so we can give a better outlook ^^

Looks like I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board lol. Thanks for the critique.

It's a bit hard to say what he should be, so maybe you can just give more info  I think the main problem is the pear body shape that gives a very "girly" vibe, so maybe changing it to a more "tulip" shape if you want a big belly and just adding pants will help a lot.

That's actually a really good idea. It was supposed to look like a giant oversized trench coat, but looking at it now adding a pair of would definitely help. And I also wanted to give him a beer belly, but it seems that's gotten the opposite effect too. So I'll have to hance that body shape too.

Sorry man, but this guy's smile and eyes just rub me the wrong way. Also, the way his legs are linked to the rest of the body feels strange. I am unsure if it was your intention, but the character looks very doll-like, and his breasts are falling all over, which is not common for a man unless he's way more overweight than what I believe you are going for. I also notice a discrepancy between the references you got and what the character actually looks like. I don't know if you were trying to make him look so feminine, but, if that wasn't the case, I would suggest using more triangles and squares for the design.

Thank you for the critique. I will definitely be going back to the drawing board. He's supposed to look overweight, but I'll have to fix the proportions to make it look more like that. But I'll defiantly try adding more triangles and squares to the design and see how it looks.
