What genre of music do you listen to when you draw?

Mainly rock. Some jazz, some hip hop, some r&b, some pop haha I tend to play Linkin Park and Nirvana songs obsessively though~

when I wanna focus I usually just listen to instrumental music with a fast pace. I doesnt really matter the genre for me, I think I just like the fast paced music since it makes me feel like I'm some hero in a video game XD

I usually just listen to any of the 100+ songs I have in my folder... Depending on the picture I'm drawing. If I draw fanart, then I usually play its official soundtrack, the song depending on the type of drawing; if it's sad, I play its sad OSTs, if it's badass and actiony, I play their battle tracks or OP songs, etc.

Or I can just play any song, as long as it fits what I'm drawing.

On the other hand, most of the times I drew my comic, I was endlessly looping my Linkin Park playlist...

I'm listening to podcasts and instrumental (or epic) musics as some people over there. "original" or from films or games. One playlist I like right now is celtic musics ! I really like listening to classic music too. Some Vivaldi's 4 seasons, for example.
Oh and I'm addict to Legend of Korra's musics. I dream of official soundtracks releases of book 2, 3 and 4.

It depends on the scene in the comic. If it's a darker tone, then I listen to metal/J-Rock/K-Rock/Epic soundtracks both instrumental or lyrical(zomg Nox Arcana & Two Steps From Hell are my top choices!!). If it's a lighter tone (like traveling or romance or comedy bits) then I'll listen to Celtic/Folk music :')

Aside from comics, if it's an illustration I'll listen to anything :'D

I tend to mostly listen to music I feel fits my story or fits the mood of a situation I'm drawing in said story.

Or just whatever song I'm obsessed with and having on constant loop for hours on end until I'm sick of it. :V

I am a big fan of podcasts. Lately I have been listening to a lot of podcasts about everything and anything. Lately I have been really into the storytelling podcasts Snap Judgment, Strangers and The Moth Radio Hour. I am also into a variety of art(Art Talk, Bad at Sports, SFMOMA, MOMA, The Art Life) comic (Comic Experience, Gutter Talk, Lean in Art, The Comics Alternative, and Comic Book Queers) and history/ political (Stuff Mom never told you, Emperors of Rome, Hardcore History, and DeCode DC) podcasts. I have a half hour bike ride to work and like to make art in big chucks of time, so I burn through a lot of podcasts.

I listen mainly to video game music on my ipod. I have it one shuffle so all my songs can play. Sometimes I go to a specific playlist that is dedicated to a certain mood like fighting or a sad scene. Music also helps form new ideas for my comic in my head as well.

A lot of really calm folk music, like the Seekers or John Denver. It really get's me in the mood to draw nice, down home fun.
Unless or course it's something actiony or intense or remotely exciting, in which case, I drop kick that out the window and turn on Meat Loaf full volume. Nothing like 12 minutes of straight rock and roll to send you into a tizzy.
My brother always says I have weird music tastes, and I'm not sure why.
