Good day.
I'm new here and I just want to interact with the people here. I'd be interested to know what inspired you to be a writer or content creator. Doesn't matter if it's a certain movie, novel, person or an event. Feel free to share.
As for me, I think it was my lack of sense of self; my lack of belonging-ness that made me create a whole new world for me to fit in (of course in my imagination). Since I was a kid, I felt different from the others, I often strayed away from the norm, I thought I was strange, or maybe, just not normal. I lived with my siblings and parents at that time, and we were...let's say, socially impaired type of beings. (or maybe the right term is introverts). Observing the adults around me, they also did not belong anywhere, sure, they greet neighbors when they need to but on normal occasions, everyone just stays inside our humble house, minding our own businesses. I often played with myself (or my older brother) and imagine different scenarios on our head (even acting some of it), and it was enjoyable. It was an escape from the ugly reality. I was able to be me at the same time not exactly me, but I often put myself on the shoes of the characters in question, and thought about how the character would react based on his personality and it was fun.
First it was mainly free form poetry and random words bunched into a piece (soliloquies as I call them). Then as I grew older, I managed to put the scenarios into my head and made it into stories. Although I didn't really manage to finish those, but now I'm inspired to go through the rest of the series and my ultimate goal is to finish at least one story this year. With that, I chose Tapas to publish my content since I subscribed for quite awhile now and researched how I can also contribute.
So what's yours?
