Long answer: Lol this probably sounds weird but I never really thought about it? Although my style has evolved A LOT over the years I've never really had a style inspiration. Way back in high school I used to only like Japanese styles, taking a little from the various manga I liked. The most I remember about that time was I liked how Arina Tanemura drew eyes, so I started drawing eyes in a similar fashion.

Unfortunately this was the only thing I can find, and is from a little later when I was slowly phasing out of the Tanemura eyes. But there's still a tiny sliver of similarity in there. (not really)

In my later years of high school I started thinking "man, I wanna be like a real artist", and in my mind that was finding beauty in the human form and the aesthetics of the real world. At the time I thought real people and things were ugly, only thinking anime and manga looked pleasing.
During that mindset change I forced myself to only observe real people (mostly nude) and real things, losing all stylistic influence. My style just sorta evolved on it's own with the new changes. Any more off the top of my head my favorite styles come from Alphonse Mucha, H.R Giger, Norman Rockwell, and James Jean. But I can't say they've influenced my style because I haven't actively studied their work.

?????

¯_(ツ)_/¯

TL;DR: I never think about it so I don't know?

The original Pokemon and One Piece... but you wouldnt be able to fully tell from my comic XDD

I love Alphonse Mucha (I used to live in Czech Republic). I once made a painting in the style of Mucha.

I don't really know anymore about direct influence but there's a pretty big mix of things that have led me one way or the other I'm sure while messing about with styles. Looking at my art style now I think I've begun to drift towards a sort of classic anime style?

Like even though I've never seen Urusei Yatsura I've liked the look of it's characters

or the bright poppy colors of sailor moon

I'm definitely among those who were drawn in by Tanemura's art style and Full Moon was the first to really catch my eye

There's also two shows that I've watched on Smile that happened to capture my eye being Little Women and Swiss Family Robinson

Whether it really shows I'm not 100% sure but it's something about the softness in the art, I guess

Junko is a pretty heavy inspiration for my art, like really heavy. Haha.

I also really like the style of Nakajima Atsuko.

Naoko Takeuchi (sailor moon) was also the original inspiration for my art, though I tend to pull a lot less than I used to from it.

The Persona, Shin Megami Tensai artist is a big inspiration as well. Especially the way they color.

Yuiji Aniya is a fairly recent inspiration, but I realized I already did a lot of thing similarly, so I've been referencing them a lot lately .<3

Some of my art for comparison.

I wanna do some stuff in Mucha's art nouveau style soooo bad! But I know it would take forever to finish, and lack of free time only allows me to draw comic pages right now. Maybe someday.

I can say without hesitation that my biggest inspiration had been Naruto when I was younger.

And also Soul Eater

More recently, I've been inspired by both the art of Persona and The Dummy's Dummy webcomic on webcomic!

Can't think of any more off the top of my head, so here's some of my art:

My largest inspiration from childhood was Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto creator). I was blown away when I saw a style that was a little more realistic and had characters that looked rather distinct from each other, compared to most show styles I had seen before that (Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura etc.)

Around that time, I used to draw like this:

As I grew up I started looking towards new inspirations like Glenn_Arthur_Art

Djamila Knopf

Orpheelin

And detailed oriented artists like Kaoru Mori

So nowadays my illustrations/ comics are like this:

Some people have said they think my art style was Disney inspired. Mostly it just started with Naruto and then I added more realism to it that I studied from photos. xD

I was inspired by Art Noveau while living in Montreal. I loved the way the outlines popped.

I was also inspired by David Mazzuchelli’s art for Batman Year Zero. This eventually led to my highly inconsistent art-style. But I’m most proud of it. The intent was to remind people of the art in 1920s King Arthur books.

Will have to look into this Orpheelin artist! The picture you posted looks amazing  Very inspiring indeed!
Also, your own work has come such a long way! It looks amazing

My style does have a lot of Japanese Art influences. However, there is a nice hint of cartoonish exaggeration to it as well.

I think my style is a mixture of watching a hint of Sailor Moon and 80s anime, a BUNCH of Scooby Doo, and the entire series of Ed, Edd, n Eddy and Looney Tunes. I have a love for dynamic poses, and I took a lot of that from the cartoons, keeping some of the aesthetics of modern Japanese animations.

Also, this really inspired my love for anime a bit more:

Mine is inspired by Naruto and Bandai Namco's Tales of Series games

1 year later

About 4 years ago I was heavily influenced by anime but since I've really strayed away from drawing in that way for so long its hard to say where the root inspirations were.

I remember for a time being obsessed with the painted style of work by

inuiikun and her zodiac speedpaints she did on youtube.

Here is ex of me trying to paint in a similar way.

But I wasn't really happy drawing detailed paintings and tried branching out. That is when I discovered my love for webcomics. I can say I am heavily inspired in several ways from these few webcomic Artists.

My style now

Avas Demon.

Honestly one of the most beautiful comics i've ever seen. Every panel is like a painting. But most of all I love how magical the colours on each page looks. I mostly feel the parts of my style most inspired would be the painterly/shading techniques.

Blindsprings.

I love every page of Blindspring. Yet again one of the most beautiful comics i've ever seen. The art has a more traditional watercolor style of colour.

I love the atmospheric colour and shading. And the rough pen texture used for outlines. Each page looks detailed like a painting.

Ever since then I've used rough textured brushes for outlining and watercolour brushes for shading.

Harpy Gee
Another big inspiration. In fact I'm pretty sure most of the comic is done traditionally.

I'm really interested in animation. I've been following Harpy Gee for a while and I think the more cartoonish exaggerated features of my characters are definitely inspired after reading the comic.

Lastly...
Space Boy

While I love the detailed painterly art of the other webcomics i just talked about. I also love the crisp outlines and strong character designs in Space boy.

The rough coloured shading and the bold outlines really make the characters stand out. And I haven't gone back to smooth outlines or shading really, ever since I started reading this comic. I take a lot of inspiration from Space boy.

Now i've found a style I'm mostly comfortable in. While I do think it may change with time. I can say the webcomics that have inspired me have had more lasting impact in my style than some of the anime that inspired me. Even though anime inspired me to draw in the first place.

Funny truth is I tried to move into a definitive style and that........... kinda failed.

Whatever I did either didn't feel unique enough or was bizarre beyond my liking. What I ultimate fell into, the style I'm using now, is one that's.... I dunno comfortable to me? I'm not entirely sure if it's distinctive or not but some folks have told me they can recognize what I do at a glance so maybe that's enough?

The fact that I suck at drawing, so I wanted to make my drawings as simple as possibly...

I guess my artstyle was always influenced a lot by western animation, comics, anime and manga, all at once. I gre with both so it's like i just suck it all in and make a weird mix. I alo always liked things that have vibrant colors and just look sharp and clean. So yeah, kinda weird mix of both worlds.

You can see it here
