Wow, I don't know where did it begin... I think that other things I'm writing/drawing but that are in fact long term projects, got me on drawing Kings of Fire (originally "Age of Dragons", but it was too cliche, haha). It takes place in the same Universe that everything I write (I usually write fantasy).

The thing with this specific comic is that I want to take a little the narrative style of selk'nam legends (selk'nams are a ethnic group almost extinct here in Argentina). These legends are mostly fragmented, they have no an "epic", and many of their "heroes" are more like "anti-heroes"... I've been a while trying to put them in a comic, maybe someday I will, but that time imagening their lives in the cold Patagonia, their simple activities... I took something of that in the idea of Kings of Fire, still the story is settled in such a different place like UK...

Hi my name David.

I was inspired by the mythology of vikings. I have descent from the north of europe. And when i was a child all this myths fascinating me. Asgard's Ashes That's my work, all criticism are welcome.

Regards.

The initial inspiration for Doragon Konpaku3 was Asura's Wrath, especially when it comes to its music. One in particular (vid has spoilers), One Who Spins Samsara, is incredibly relevant to some of the deeper parts of the world building much later on in the comic. Characterizations, Characters, general theme and tone have also been deeply touched by traces of Asura's Wrath's inspiring force. (Main Character Zack and the leader of the Templar, Arashi will have a relationship directly influenced by the game).

More minor inspirations include Naruto, Bleach, .//Hack G.U, Elfin Lied, and a whole host of others, even recent games like Nier Automata help inspire the comic. Music is a gigantic part of the inspiration though, storylines and characters are more minor influences, but I won't deny their influence all the same.

My primary inspirations for Cosmos Song? Video games, lots of them. Primarily of the RPG kind! My old DnD ways have also had an effect on the inspiration for my comic. I've always been a huge fan of world building and lore as well.

I can't stress it enough how important the role of music played in the creation of this story. I mainly listened to VG soundtrack music along with one of my older playlists consisting of Cocteau Twins, Lacuna Coil and an assortment of many other artists I can't recall at the moment! smiley

I would say my inspirations for B.O.O.M. (Band of Outrageous Misfits) are a mix of Tank Girl, Sam & Max, Futurama and Metal Gear Solid. With the first three, it was that combination of comedy and a single job each issue/episode. More or less a single job. The MGS part of Tank Girl is for the art. I may be 24 but I'm still trying to find my own style and Jamie Hewlett and Yoji Shinkawa are real heroes of mine.

for Zildren : A friend of mine simply said one day "ok but what if we created a roleplay group about kids kicking zombie ass with nerf guns and quirky gangs" and from there onwards things just got better. (SADLY THE NERF GUNS WERE DISCARDED :(() we went thru a lot of changes, but we passed more than a full year just imagining how that would go, creating characters and artworks and watching the kids grow in a very imrpobable world until it hit me we could be sharing the story with others- which is where i started to think about comics.

Most of my comics are political. (you'll see soon enough)~~~<3
They are inspired by my inability to make people understand the simple solutions~~~~

However, more interestingly(?) Cleansing:Tag1 Is inspired by all of my different feelings.
Each character is a person I've met, someone i respect(example Thessalonius=Tupac more or less), or whom i wish i could be.
And the main character(?) is based off me and my overwhelming fear of hurting others, or decisions that hurt me and benefit others~~~~

I guess it's a universe based on our universe based on my perception of the universe...
Action, Psychological, Drama, Political, Tragedy...

My Comic1 is actually a spinoff of a bunch of comic books I used to draw for fun, using ball point pens, copy paper and colored pencils (oh, and plenty of white-out). After I decided to get a little more serious and invest a few bucks in better tools, I went with some suggestions from family to switch things around a bit. Now I typically draw a comic strip that's intended to be a gag a day poking fun at everyday life. smiley

Inspired ORIGINALLY in 7th grade from... YAOI lmao!!!
But I made them more realistic and pretty relatable and the overall developement of my chatracters and story is just MIND BLOWING!!

Kurasawa films and old anime as well as adventuring through the countryside when I was a kid inspired my tale Araura1!

Gombik does have a little backstory actually.

I'm an English language teacher. In the kids' exercise books, there are these comics which end every chapter... Let's just say they're pretty bad. I can imagine the company sitting down around a table and brainstorming this well-off, wholesome family who each possess one really distinct personality trait and nothing else. Nothing ever goes wrong. Nobody ever has a strong opinion. Nothing wacky ever happens. But the kids love comics.

One day, we did a comic making project and to show them, I drew a six panel comic about a robot who wants a hug but every time he goes to hug somebody, he electrocutes them. He starts to cry but of course the tears electrocute him. It took me about 30 minutes with some crayons and I didn't think much about it. The kids went bonkers for it. There were mixed reactions (some thought everybody getting electrocuted was hilarious, some were very sad for the robot) but they loved him.

Fast forward a few months and me and colleague were complaining about these exercise books again. I told him it wasn't that difficult to make a decent story - even I could make something better. I told him I'd brought in a comic about a robot that had taken me half an hour to make and it had gone down better... Then I had a lightbulb moment.

Then I worked on the ideas for a bit and here we are.

My little comic https://tapas.io/episode/7057781 is inspired by all the comics I loved when started reading comics,
that means, action -adventure teams (like X-men, Avengers, TMNT) , Tv cartoons from the 90s (south park, ren & stimpy) and what's going on today with the indie comics scene (walking dead mostly, but also usagi yojimbo, groo, etc)
is a crazy mix of all that plus, a healtly background of metal music, movies, tv culture.
come to think, this comic is pretty awesome and most likely you'll find something you like in it...if you're over 20! ha

This is a fun topic! And I totally agree with how main characters seem to adjust to fast sometimes! I'm glad you where inspired you decided to make your own
My comic that's up (only one page so far) Something Like Death I like stuff about artificial intelligence and androids. But I always felt like they didn't have a personal or slow every day life feeling to them. So that's what I'm trying to do  hopefully it will work out.
My other one Star Lovers was just a personal project to think through dark place I was in. The character in it is basically me.

The initial inspiration for my strip, I'm Lost, might seem like a downer, but hopefully not. I woke up one day, and i didn't feel like doing anything. I just started thinking,"I feel so lost". "I haven't done anything with my life". "I just want to leave my house and just start walking."
By this time, I was trying to think of a good starting comic to post on here. So then I thought,"I've had this computer and tablet for a few months". So I drew up the first page, went to the forums to find out how to post pages, and the next day, I'm Lost was started, and it's been one weird ride.
As far as other inspirations, though, I'm usually influenced by videogames( usually JRPGs), anime( Fullmetal Alchemist, in particular), music, and youtube (there are some okay things on there). For my series, the game Journey was pretty big, and as far as the title, that was partially inspired by a lyric from Blur's "Strange News from Another Star". As for the style, well there's not much to say about the art, but the color scheme came from the album, "Run With the Hunted", by Skyhill, one of my favorite albums.
Sorry if I got personal. I usually don't talk this much. Oh! And "Rick & Morty"!

My lil comic, Emeraude3, was inspired by the cruel reality we are living in like inequality(such as racism) and corruption and such also on how stereotyping would affect a person and also what greed could do to a person. It was also inspired from the current state of our country today, will some ideas of it anyways aha.

In a lighter side note, some parts of the story is FLUFF because I love fluff and cuteness especially in romance kind of thing >v> <3
