Isn't that a lot of heroes though? So many of them have a loss that triggers them to becoming a hero.
Perhaps this is delving outside of the realm of this thread, but I am curious to find out what Super Heroes appeal to a person.
I like Batman, though not just because of Batman, but because he also has one of the best Rogue Gallery and in a world where there is so much corruption, he has proven himself to be incorruptible (WHICH IS MY BIG BEEF WITH BATMAN VS SUPERMAN BTW). He is moody as hell, has some severe trauma from his childhood, is rude and cold, yet he still sticks to his values and does his best to bring justice in a world where often or not, there isn't any.
However, rightfully pointed out, he is a sad man in a cape. He also has one of the most powerful super powers than a human can ever get.
Money.
Lots, and lots, and lots, of money.
So that may not make him appealing to people. It doesn't help that what I like about him, gets exploited to the point that some may call him...a Marty Stu:
So, what other heroes do people get drawn to instead? Is there a Marvel hero that is better? Another DC hero that needs more attention? I am curious.
