First impression is dodging an attack, but given that you're apparently trying to make this look like a kick.. I'd say it's too stiff to fully register as one. I'd recommend looking up "axe kick" for some nice references for future use
You've already somewhat captured the body balancing itself out mid-kick, but I think you could exaggerate it just a bit more. The standing leg should bend a little to make the lower half of the drawing have a bit more energy.
I think the biggest things working against you here are the angle and the pose itself. Most of the references I'm finding show the kick from the side when it's in motion, almost never from the front. So, if you wanted to draw a cover with an axe kick that's easily seen as an attack, this might be the way to go. The pose would actually work better seen from the side, and with the motion arc.. that just makes it even more convincing.
But if you would rather show the kick from the front, I'd suggest having the leg up with the body balancing itself out. In other words, before the kick comes down. This is a pretty striking pose on its own without having to suggest movement. And there's plenty of references of this as well so, you're in luck!
In any case, here's two simple fixes to make your art look more like a kick without changing the pose
- The motion arc you drew should probably be reversed, so that the thicker end of the arc follows the leg instead.
- Have the motion arc actually be attached to the foot, so it doesn't get confused with something else unrelated to the character.
or just ignore me lol i'm not an artist in any capacity
