What is the craziest and/or weirdest thing have ever happened to you?

Wow! O_O. Well, in my family they used to see gnomes (I don't know why).

Also life sucks but not everybody is mean. And as far as I know agnostics and atheists are the ones that enjoy life to the most. I mean, if there's no afterlife we should live it to the fullest while we can, shouldn't we?

A family member thinks that religion is just a placebo that make us been able to continue living even if we lost our dear ones. But he goes to church and that stuff because he wants to believe in that.

I'm happy with my life, I have a girlfriend who loves me and I love her, I have a great job, I'm pretty healthy and study what I ever wanted.....
I don't think life is crappy for the things you believe in, life gets crappy because ourselves make it crappy. I don't know, just saying....

Used to be suicidal. Was prescribed selexa at one point and been in and out of the psychiatrist office.

Only thing that stopped me was the FEAR that there might be a Hell... (This was before this whole experience... I was atheist but had slight benefit of the doubt that maybe there's a hell).

Even now... I can honestly look back at my situation at that time and still justify and say it is logical to commit suicide if it is beyond a shadow of a doubt that there's no Hell or afterlife.

I mean what did I have to live for at that time? My abusive narcissistic parents? No friends... constantly had to physically fight bullies... no romantic relationship... nowhere to go... I mean what and why do I have to continue on living given those life conditions at that time?

There's no rational secular explanation without God that can effectively argue why should I go on living... why I thank God for proving He is real and He loves me.

Well, I've had more than my fair share of paranormal experiences, but I'd like to share something that my friend and I both experienced that didn't have anything to do with ghosts but it sure as hell had us pretty shaken up. When my best friend and I were seven (we are both almost twenty-five now) we would often spend our time either drawing, exploring the woods, play Donkey Kong 64, or go fishing for tadpoles from the large pool in my backyard.
This was a large above ground pool with a deck that belonged to the landlord and had not been touched in years, heck, it probably even looked like that before we were even born. The water was super dark, like almost black it seemed but frogs still laid their eggs in it despite how disgusting the pool was. We would use the pool net to fish out the tadpoles and take turns fishing them out along with dead leaves.
One day while we were fishing for tadpoles it was my friend's turn with the net, but she was having trouble lifting the net from the water and said she needed my help. I figured she probably just gathered up way too many leaves from the bottom of the pool and helped her lift the net but HOLY HELL WAS A WRONG ABOUT THE LEAVES. What we fished out was about the size of a large horseshoe crab (So it was about this big) but it had a head like the common stink bug you find in your house if you live in the states or certain parts of Asia. This thing was huge and we had no idea what the hell it was. It was moving its antennae and legs which as well looked like it belonged to some kind of insect. My friend and I both looked at it and our faces went white with fear, we both screamed and dropped the net running as fast as we possibly could into my house. We tried to explain everything to my mom but we were so full of panic and trying to speak over one another so to her we weren't making any sense. Other people have tried to tell us it was a snapping turtle, but the thing is this was an above ground pool so it would be pretty hard for a turtle to get in there, plus turtles don't have antennae or the legs of an insect. Back in high school I passed biology with flying colors and watched tons of nature documentaries growing up and still to this day I can't make out what that thing was. My friend and I don't see each other as much as we used to and she has a busy job working with some very troubled kids in her area so we don't get to talk on the phone or on facebook much but when we do the topic about the thing we found in the pool always comes up from one of us. I don't think we will ever know what that thing was.

A recent thing that happened to me, but it's mostly just funny.

Okay, kay. Short story time. So I went to a convenient store that I go to often to get a soda. I walk in, and I don't see anyone there, not even the worker. I didn't think much of it, figured that they'd notice if I was getting a soda, since it makes noise. So I get my drink, set it on the counter and wait. and wait. and wait. and wait some more. "Where in the world is the person?" I think to myself. "Wtf am I supposed to do?" So, because I'm awkward, instead of saying anything or making noise, I start walking around the store, and notice that he's totally in the fridges stocking stuff. So I figured, he'd seen me at this point.

He doesn't.

"Maybe I should open and close the door to make the noise" I think. I don't do this.

So, I go back to the counter, and at this point, I really am so confused. What am I supposed to do? I was half tempted to just leave the $1.07 on the counter and leave at this point. But the door would make noise, and then I'd feel even weirder. So I continue to wait.

"This is how robberies happen."

"Maybe he was murdered" My friend messages.

A few minutes later (yes, minutes) he finally comes out of the fridges and is in the aisles, facing away from the counter. He still hasn't noticed me. So I walk up, silently, and kinda, sorta, started following him around a little bit. He still doesn't notice me. And at this point, I'm like, "okay, this is just getting weird now, wtf." So, instead of making myself known, I walk toward the bathroom hallway, and then refill my drink a bit and pretend that's what I was doing this whole while.

I go to the counter, pay, and honestly, I'm like 99% sure he had no idea I was there for like ten minutes.

All the while I was texting my friend about what was happening. Wtf happened and why am I the most awkward human on the planet.

When I was a kid I got woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of a car alarm going off but then making a weird dying sound. So I looked out the window just in time to see the car explode. (It was the only car in the neighbourhood that had a car alarm, so I knew which one to look for)

When I ran downstairs to tell my parents (they slept in the living room to give the kids the bedroom) my mom woke up really annoyed because she thought that I was freaking out because I was missing Dragonball Z (the only channel we had that played it at 6am)

Got to watch all the neighbours freaking out trying to throw water on the car or jump in their cars and drive them away from the flaming car until the fire truck arrived.

I was just at a normal gas station filling up my car after work- totally normal day, when I hear a loud boom noise. I turn around and there is a man who's upper body is on fire flailing around the gas station. Someone ran up to him with one of those flame retardant blankets and smothered the flames, and it appeared the man was ok. But it was definitely pretty crazy, and sort of scary. Like, I would really prefer if people did not combust at the gas station.

That's just your experience though. And while I'm sorry this is all happening to you, you can't equate that with everyone else's. I'm suicidal myself, gone through a good bit of what you mentioned as well as other things, and I haven't done anything not because of a belief in God, and I'm Catholic. I had a friend who killed himself and I still can't even say his name out loud or write it down because I still can't believe it. Knowing that, what stops me is how my siblings would feel, like how I've felt.

I'm glad believing in God helps you, but that does not mean it's the same for everyone. And to make life even a little bit easier sometimes, you can find small things that leave you smiling. Maybe it's writing or making a comic or learning a martial art.

A lot of weird things have happened to me but one that still sort of freak me out is the psychic lady...

When I was in college, I had this very shy classmate who says she could see weird things. She told me that she "saw" a bunch of stuff when she looked at me, including two little dogs with wiry hair. I was sort of rude to her, implying what she was saying was BS.

The next day, I saw something really bizarre. It was two little dogs with wiry hair running perfectly side by side. There was no owner around. I tried to follow the dogs but when I turned the corner, they vanished. I lived in that neighborhood for years and I never seen anyone walking those dogs. Surprised by all this, I wanted to tell the classmate what I saw but I was told she dropped the class.

I understand it's my experience and everyone reacts differently to different life events. Reason why psychology has been argued to be a pseudoscience because results aren't always exact and can't always have equal results.

I'm way past my suicidal phase of life. I have a wife who I'm happily married to... And we're gonna have children either by adoption or biological.

Just had to share my opinions because someone out there might resonate with my views and experiences and I may be of help and prevent a tragedy.

I strongly believe that if any of these mass shooters had even just a little bit of God in their lives, these tragedies wouldn't have happened or would have been greatly diminished. The farther away society drifts from God and His will, the more calamities are bound to happen. The individual is the basic component of a society. If we had godlier individuals, we're gonna have less problems in society.

Uh well that kinda implies that atheists and agnostics are more prone to causing tragedies. I live in Ireland and a lot of people are atheist and we don't go to school with the fear of mass shootings hanging over our heads.

Saying that if people were godlier would equal a better society is more than a stretch because that was a lot of society ages ago and I can promise you, it wasn't a good time to live in.

For atheists and agnostics to have relatively happy and content lives, I noticed they need to have something in this world they need to live for like family, a significant other, a nice career, lots of money, etc. But if those things are taken away, despair is more likely to set in and despair causes people to act irrationally.

Without the "fear of God", (more like "deep respect" of God but that's a whole new topic) what is there to tell me right and wrong? What set of moral code and laws would I adhere to in order to know what is right or wrong? Or is it all relative? Survival of the fittest? Strong live and weak die?

And contrary to popular belief... The society you think was "godly" more had a semblance of godliness but in reality it's just a legalistic set of laws and tradition that are detached from spiritual reality. Reason why Jesus called out the Pharisees and told them they make their converts twice the child of Hell.

Rigid robotic militaristic religiosity gave rise to atheism becoming popular and liberal ideas. Spirituality is largely detached from many churches today. Also a reason why people who seek spirituality tend to gravitate towards eastern religions, new age, and witchcraft.

Spiritual knowledge should be fused within Christianity. And not just "shut up cuz God said so". Then why did God give us ability to reason and question then? Because He wants us to understand Him and His laws so we see reasoning behind them and love Him with our free will. Not purely out of blind fear.

If we had a more spiritually advanced society that is lined up with God and His ways, we'd have far less problems in the world today.

when i was a child i was in a summer field trip/camp program where we'd be bussed off to a water park in the morning, and then wherever else later to play at and on one trip to (i want to say) a gameworks, i got separated from my partner and couldnt find her, some random ass lady came up to me and said "you're leaving", and to little preschool me, this clicked as "your bus is leaving without you" and ended up dashing out of there screaming and crying and ended up scaring this poor mom who was just walking along.

the bus didnt actually leave without me and my mom wouldnt let me go on any more gameworks trips after that.

I'm a guy and trust me, this is relevant.

Years ago, my friends and I used to see movies regularly at a big mall that has a Loew's Theatre in it. One night, I was a late arrival because of work and I drove there separately and took my own car.

After the movie ended, we went our separate ways and I bumped into 2 apparent high/drunk/crazie ladies. One of the ladies that had straight long silky brown hair stopped me and asked me how much I weighed. I told her how much I weighed and then she asked me a very bizarre favor that I went along with because YOLO.

She asked me if she could put me on her shoulders and she'll give me a shoulder ride out of the mall. I hesitated at first because I didn't know if she could hold me for that long and I'm a guy about to sit on a lady's shoulders. While I was hesitating, she told me that it will be fun and they both promise that they won't let me fall.

So I decided, ok WTH why not? The lady with the straight long silky brown hair was excited, then squats in front of me, pulls my right leg over her right shoulder, my left leg over her left shoulder and stands up with me sitting on her shoulders. Before I could get myself situated with this bizarre act that I'm agreeing too, she grabs tight on my legs and starts walking towards the exit.

I was nervous at first because again, I'm a guy sitting on a lady's shoulders in public and I wasn't exactly ready for this type of ride. Once, I secured myself I just kept my mouth shut and went on with this request. She managed to carry me all the way out of the mall.

Weird but impressive.
