What is Your overall honest feelings about the Tapas Comunity

Ever since I found the forums It's been a favorite.
I log here multiple times everyday just to see if there is something new to think about.
Though I do think there is always SOMETHING to improve, this is pretty great overall.

But yeah, overall decently solid with quite a number of friendly creators here, some I'm closer with due to knowing them more or due to other things like the rp thread going on. The batch of regular people here also continues to change as old people leave and new people join. So it's kinda like socks in that regard.

I do also think there are things that could be improved with the community, mainly mass dogpiling on people which is understandable, but sometimes there are misunderstandings. Also sometimes there is a case of forced positivity, as in when someone has a negative opinion they'll get jumped on quickly

It's awesome, like finding the right place to get readers of my story without sacrificing much on resolution and format, so I give it a 10, but some unsolicited messages, dead subs, mass unsubs, unwanted sub-4-subs, and spambots took a 2 out of 10 so my final score is 8

I just feel sad that they don't do supports for like disabled creators or bilingual people like they do for others like now pride month before asian etc. cool to do also stuff like that.
or the search tool - is hard to find what you want, could look and work better.

But still you can find friends in this community, which is cool.

any comunity has it's issues, but I conected with some awesome creators thanks to the forums, and it keeps me super motivated to keep pushing through deadlines.

it doesn't neccessarily reflect my views on tapas as a platform, but it's still my favourite place to publish because of how well you can manage your comics, comments and subscribers. being able to share news and having an actually functioning profile is just really neat

visibility sucks a bit. even when you're on the popular tag of your genre it doesn't really do anything for you.
and while it's nice that there's a tab for staff pics and 20 or so community comics at a time, they still feel a bit like an after thought.

sooo there's some good and some bad, but the users are pretty great.

I love Tapas. Tbh I don't have much experience with other places, but I'm new to this and barely convinced myself to publish and Tapas has been so welcoming. I've met great, supportive creators and have a great group of readers. I also love that, as a novelist, I can connect with artists as well.

It isn't perfect, of course. Especially as a novelist. I am less active in the forums now because I don't do stress or toxicity. I know there are people who are bitter for whatever reason, but I haven't had that experience, and the positives of Tapas far outweigh the negatives. So I gave I it an 8.

I have not had an issue with this community but that is because I am relatively new. I give it an 8, not good, not bad, and very pretty.

I mean I see the community as different than Tapastry and the promotion teams that we have available. For the community, I'd give a solid 5--because I respect everyone here, and we've had some good discussions, but if I had the ability to block, I'd have blocked like half of you in the year and a half I've been here because there's been some fights, haha. Again, a lot of people who are cool and chill, and I like them a lot, so don't think I'm talking about you as the person I'd block because they tend to leave the forum anyway in a fit of Greater-Than-Thou rage.

Thing is, I've been here a while, and I think things have calmed down recently, so if you've just joined, you probably have no idea what drama stuff I'm talking about.

But as for Tapas doing it's part to try and promote us forward, I would give it a solid 2. I think people have the best of intentions and there's a lot of people here who really want to improve and I want them to have way more than I had trying to get into art. Like art is hard to break into, I don't even feel like I've "done" it yet--but with webcomics it's even harder. If it were not for the forums, I would not be using the website, at all. The numbers aren't there, and I'm saying that as a professional artist, I have been on a lot of art websites, and this one is probably the most frustrating when it comes to growing a brand. I don't like having to wait for a tiny opening to join a contest or maybe get seen by a staff member to get my spotlight on the front page as my only way to really get my brand jump started. And that's a problem on Webtoons as well. Just a huge problem in webcomics.

Hmm... I would go ahead and give the community a solid 8! I really enjoy coming on here every day to talk with everyone (even when it's random topics not related to art/writing). I do think the self-promotion gets out of hand at times with everyone piling over each other but I think the mods have done a pretty good job reigning those threads in. I prefer when we get prompts or a game with them too because the point should be supporting one another. (Not doing what they call a "drop and go". Every art/writing site seems to have issues with this since people want to be seen but I just want there to be a better, funner way to do it.)

As for the site, I do agree with @rajillustration that getting seen can be really hard. Yes, this is true for any website. I feel like I've been lucky enough to gather a reader-base here. But I know the struggle of gaining readers can make people have self-doubts about their work or get obsessed with numbers. And everyone deserves to feel good about their work so... I almost wish creators could curate more of what they want to show up in the search results on the site and in-app (ie the choice to have either their subs or likes show up, have none of that show up, etc.)
