I try to upload once a week, on a Friday, for all my series.
Of course, life can get in the way but for the sake of consistency it's good to set yourself a goal for a week or every two weeks. This helps keep people interested, remember the work, and gives you time to create.
For a novel, I can sort-of have multiple ready in a week if I'm really feeling the story. However, for the comics, I try to work in advance so in case I'm having a down period, I'll be caught up and won't feel overwhelmed.
One thing to remember is to work at your own pace, set yourself goals that you can achieve. Don't overwhelm yourself or get burned out because that's no fun as a creator.
For example: This comic of mine is based on my completed novel. So, I have a reference to work off of as I try to go 1-to-1 with the details and story elements. However, drawing out all the pages can take longer than expected sometimes. So, I try to complete multiple "chapters/episodes" in one setting so that I'll be at least a week or two ahead. If that's too much, try spreading out the work load throughout the days/week to help ease yourself into a flow.
