I own a used bookstore and I've worked in my local library for 16 years now. I love books.

I work in a very specific field called health IT... It brings in the money while I draw as a hobby. smile

Wah, so many different jobs you all have ^_^
Concerning me, I'm a computer engineer. It leaves me enough time to draw my comic after work smile

I'm a financial aid advisor at an art school. Prior to that I mainly did freelance, plus some kitchen and marketing work, but I really like having a steady paycheck.

I'm a janitor for an elementary school. I also do roofing sales on the side.
It's painfully unglamorous. But it pays the bills and frees me up to do the things I love. Like drawing my webcomic!
My wife is going through nursing school, so when she gets a job in her field, she'll be my suga-mama while I go back to school and/or pursue a job that I actually feel passionate about.

I'm a UX (User Experience) Designer, which means I design interfaces for websites (like Tapastic! Except no... I don't work for Tapastic) and plan out the paths that take a person from point A to point B within a product.

I won't deny that it's a fun job to have. But how many layouts for database management can you make before you start going mad?

I'm studying Astronomy! last semester of my undergraduate course, applying for grad school next year...I also have a TA job in a Numerical Methods class (: I have a super time consuming schedule!! I barely have the time to do one comic page a week, but it's something :'D

I'm currently in my fourth year of university, did two years of "basic" Engineering & Sciences and then two years of my Astronomy major. So that's...four years doing lots of physics and lots and lots of math.

Funny thing, I've only used a telescope like...once...? I've done all of my research on computer/numerical simulations, which is cooler than it sounds! last Summer I worked with a simulation of the surroundings of a black hole - a black hole has a gravitational field so strong it deflects light beams around it, so all of its surroundings look distorted! Relativity and black holes are my favourite things in this field, so I had a lot of fun with it :')

My dream job is to make educational comics on Physics and Astronomy, hahaha :'D

I just started my account on this website today... and because I'm still in highschool, I work in an ice cream parlor on the weekends.

Wow, here's everyone with all these exciting jobs and then there's me - a Credit Controller and Accounts Receivable clerk >__> lol

(in other words I chase money and answer queries whilst being amazing to my clients ;D)

Oh my God, if I had done college differently I would have done exactly what you just described. Physics and astronomy is a passion of mine but I convinced myself I probably wasn't good enough for it, and studied art instead. Please do an educational comic on Physics and Astronomy! I would subscribe SO DAMN FAST

My day job is... still comics, actually! I work as a graphic designer for various print and digital manga titles.

Sweet! it's honestly something I love to do, but my creations are more enjoyable personally lol.

I actually thought of studying arts, but my family didn't want me to - no regrets, though, I like what I do and I try to self-educate myself as an artist as much as I can. And since art is not "my job", I can focus on working on my own stuff and comics! (I do take commissions and other freelance jobs on the side every now and then, when I have time)

I'll totally do one when I can figure out how I want the comic to be! for now it's just a vague idea, but it's definitely on my to-do list. (:

I read through this post and it made me feel old. So many students and folks fresh out of school. LOL

I've been an illustrator for 15 years, and I work as a creative director for a small design agency. Been there for 14 years. I make comics and illustrations so I don't feel like I'm burning out creatively. It's a nice hobby/diversion, but it would be cool to have more commissions or pay come through those projects.

I'm a nanny for a non-verbal autistic child with special needs. I work on an as-needed basis, usually full-time. On a long day, between work-work and comic-work, I can easily pull a 15 hour day - sometimes 80-90 hour work weeks. Not a lot of pay - not a lot of time to draw. But it works.

Seeing as how this thread has been slightly revived, just updating that I of course no longer work at that art shop I mentioned before (I moved out here for school). I work as a barista at Starbucks now :3 Just part-time (if it were full-time I wouldn't have time for school/comics/etc.)
