I listen to some anime and games bgm when I draw, and the kind of music will depend on the scene being drawn. I will listen to Initial-D dogfight while i'm drawing an intense racing scene, if I want a qualifying racing run i'll listen to Mario Kart 8- N64 Rainbow Road , and if I can listen to Toad Harbor mk8 if i'm drawing a page of my characters driving on a coastal road. For normal scenes I just let the playlist play at random. ^u^

Whatever plays on Pandora. I.E. Rock, Power Metal, Disney Soundtrack.

Also sometimes I'll just listen to podcasts such as the great SleepyCast2 (WARNING: RAUNCHY NSFWish AUDIO~)

What is this? Someone who knows/played the Sonic R on the wonderful, wonderful Sega Saturn?! cries nostalgic tears

I used to listen to soothing and bittersweet tunes for inspiration but nowadays I gotta listen to louder and more upbeat music. It's a habit I picked up from having to block out other when I'm at work. The music I've listening to a lot these days are...

Gamble by Shiina Ringo. The opening of this song is both grand and energising to me. Plus, the I completely adore the use of instruments in this. It always makes me think of a rainy near-futuristic city where Triads or Yakuza cyborgs fight it out, gamble and fall in love with lady androids (because I've RP'd a story like this and this was my inspirational song LOL).

Clarity by Zedd. This gets me going, wanting to run and shout for some reason (which I can't do anywhere and anytime soon lol). Plus it reminds me of the official music video which I think is pretty well done. The use of lightings and art direction are unforgettable.

I just listen to anything that's on my ipod. Although videogame music is preferred, especially awesome soundtracks like Undertale or Mario Galaxy or De Blob. Srsly tho, the De Blob soundtrack is a good one especially. I HIGHLY recommend it. It's just so funky and chill. I love it.

I used to listen to a lot of soundtracks, or rather selections from soundtracks, but I gave up on making playlists a long time ago. Somewhere around my late-20s, that process lost its appeal for me. There are a few albums I listen to, mostly electronic. Recently, it's been BT's 'If the Stars are Eternal...' and Hybrid's 'Soundsystem 01'.

For my current comic, I actually wrote several chunks of it with "The Mello hippo Disco Show" by The Amorphous Androgynous on a loop. Seriously, it was a total of three or four hours of that one song on repeat.

VGM, mostly. Sometimes classical music or rock. I like the oldies as well and jazz. Also some cool renditions of movie soundtracks like Nightmare before Christmas, Hunchback of Notre Dame, etc.

I especially like music that doesn't have words involved, that way I can focus more.

If writing, only soundtracks. I've got a huge list of them on Spotify for concentrating. If art/processing then usually 80's playlists are running. It also depends on the project: we are working on a futurey android story right now and The Age of Plastic album by The Buggles has been on repeat for weeks. Android music recommendations are welcome!

I am a metalhead myself but, as I started drawing I found out about myself that I am a huge soundtrack freak. Anime and games mostly. I really enjoy Tera and Aion soundtracks, also when it comes to anime oddly my favorite is Fairy tail eventho I'm not that big of a Fairy Tail guy, the music is great.

Also I love elektronic music by artists such as DJVI, Waterflame, TheFatRat and the one and only Feint. Look these up if you like that kind of thing, they are great.

Almost any type of 90s or early 2000s fighting game soundtrack, specifically Tekken 3 and Street Fighter 3rd Strike.

Usually some barely comprehensible Metal music, like Blind Guardian. I find that very easy to insert my own imaginatings into ^^

If there are words in the music, it needs to be the kind that just blend into the instruments. A lot of trance and house is good for that. But instrumental is definitely the safest bet. Indispensable when writing dialogue.

for me it always depends on the type of mood I'm in I listen to all types of music, but majority I listen to the Smash bros. soundtracks from melee, brawl and Wii U.
I can't live without it!!! XD
video game music is the way to go, its always inspirational, especially games like, Ape Escape 1 & 3, Dot Hack (I,M,O,Q), Spyro the dragon (1,2 &3), street fighter 3 etc..
Also normal artist like: Micheal Jackson, Justin Timberlaker, Christina Aguilera, Jesse McCartney plus more!
