What mirrors/hosts do you use, and why?

Hi Yall, was chatting with @thoughtfulboxful in another thread and I thought, rather than talking about specific hosts/mirrors it would be a good idea to just open up the discussion and cast a wider net so-to-speak.

So what host's do you use for your comic? Why? How are you doing there? Who would you recommend it to?
Looking for insider opinions about this stuff, good, bad, and ugly.

besides here, only patreon and tumblr, and slowly weening off tumblr.

tumblr isnt terrible for hosting webcomics, its pretty good with queuing and automating posts and the like, but the site overall makes running a longform webcomic difficult, and gaining subscribers is really hard because not only is it made for microblogging, the tagging system is amazing at burying original work. and, while there are themes that make the blogroll more suited to webcomics, the most common ones are confusing and annoying to use. in my experience, posting your comic on tumblr isnt worth it - promoting is if you do it right.

I've been using Tapas as my main host for two years, but I'm now building my own site with WordPress!

The bad - Hosting isn't exactly cheap But I'm building it on a subdomain of my main art site, so at least it's not costing me extra! Also, with WordPress you need to have either coding experience or lots of money to throw at premium plugins. Otherwise your site will look pretty rough.

The good - Complete and utter control over every single aspect of your site... provided you know how to code.
If you're not a control freak like me WordPress is probably overkill, but with some coding knowledge the freedom you get is pretty amazing

I used Smackjeeves for a few months but their file size restrictions were a pain. Also, their user base is relatively small, so I eventually decided it wasn't worth the effort maintaining a mirror there.

I started out here with Tapas, then picked up Webtoons after I lost interest trying to post through POP Comics- which wasnt picking up any traction. I looked at Comic Fury & Smackjeeves, but there was something about Comic Fury that I didnt really care for, and Smackjeeves readers/numbers are just really low.

I'm doing the same thing as others have suggested, and trying to build myself a site. I picked up the hosting at a decent price, so all I have to do is start trying to figure things out & put it together. The only obstacle right now is my comic's production- which will rectify itself once the chapter ends in February. I'm gonna take off some months to build the site and try to get it running so that I can at least relax with the peace of mind posting my comic on my site.

I mainly use Tapas, and I'm trying to post on Webtoons, except I really hate converting everything in jpg..

I use here and a website made w/ blogger (Is that a dirty secret? Maybe?).
I like blogger a lot for hosting comics, it's pretty easy to rough up the tools it gives you into a site w/ next-previous buttons and other pages on the site as well— prolly not as easily as w/ Wordpress, but you don't have to pay any monthly fee to connect your own domain to it. I am paying 12 bucks on my domain a year which is great for a miser. Of course, it does not help you find a new audience, unless you pimp the url a whole bunch.
Also instagram has been super great for me for getting new readers and such; I would recommend it if you have comics pages or other art that work as independent posts.

I primarily use Tapas .3. After switching over from Inkblazers/Manga Magazine, it was pretty much my only choice. But it was worth it, since it led to me deciding to use GIF in my comics.

I plan to mirror on Webtoons and Medibang in the near-ish future. Webtoons readers like long updates, so I wanna build a buffer. And medibang is for finished chapters! It's actually a pretty cool site, but it's kinda dead. Offers opportunities to sell digital copies of your comics though.

I also lightweight mirror on DeviantArt, though I'm not too valiant about it. I can only be bothered to put certain series on there, and even then, there's no real batch-upload system so it's a pain to do -3-
