What non-comic media do you wish you could write/draw comics for?

Hey everyone! Just as the title says, I'm curious what non-comics media (TV, movies, books) do you wish you could make comics about, writing new adventures for the characters or doing expanded universe stuff or whatever?
I know for me, for example there are already comic books for the Doctor Who shows but I have plenty of ideas for some of the Doctors... and the "Night Angel" trilogy of books by Brent Weeks would also be awesome to draw comics book stories, that world is extremely visual!
By the way, doesn't count if your story was a comic book FIRST Your turn!

I'd like to make a fan comic for The Seven Princes Of The Thousand Year Labyrinth.
I love the manga so much, that I just would like to make something spectacular out of it. X)

I think I could make some legitimately hilarious Addams Family fancomics, and frankly if I could make it an extra on my Patreon without getting in trouble then I would totally do it. XD ...but I can't. Not mine. Copyright and all that. Would get sued.

.....though The Addams Family started out as a comic, so maybe that doesn't count. XD Whatevs', it's all I can think of at the moment.

Though I completely lack the skillset necessary, I would love, love, love to do comics for some of my favourite wuxia heroes. Stuff inspired by Gu Long and Jin Yong. Take characters like Lu Xiaofeng and his magic fingers or Han Tong! Ugh, I'm so mad that there weren't more stories about Han Tong (he's a recluse of sorts that carries a massive fishing pole that is, lo and behold, a knife and his wide-brimmed hat is, lo and behold, a circular blade!).

Alas, all of the sword fighting would be murdered at my hands, hehe~ It'd still be cool to go into the politics and intrigue of a wandering knight errant's life in the jianghu! Stylistically (and on the technical front) I just couldn't do it proper justice... YET. >o>

Two actually. Both less fan comics for rewrites

The first us thumbelina. I personally dislike the original written story and i strongly didlike don bluths version. But somehow it holds my heart as something i would want to recreate, rewrite and comic out.

The second one is a modern adaption of Bewitched. I own the whole show and i see huge potential as a modern story.

Actually there is a third if i ever made a fan comic it would be a miraculous ladybug Princess Tutu au comic.

I'd love to do a comic adaptation of kafka's metamorphosis. It's a fun challenge to figure out how I'd go about it.

I would love to write comics for the Supernatural TV show, the Percy Jackson book series, RocketJump (the film company), The Dresden Files book series, and Keyboard Cat.

My current project OCCULTIS is actually kind of an experimental exploration of this very thing -- it's a fast-paced story that is part satire and parody, part straight take on the prime-time modern paranormal investigation TV series sort of thing. I've got an "in universe" and "out of universe" perspective going. I know it's ambitious, but I am optimistic about it. It's just so much fun to do!

I think comics are uniquely suited to adapting film, TV, and so forth and do it overall more easily than other media because the comic creator must consider what the characters look like, what they wear, how they move, how they speak, what angles to use, what "sets" to use...a comic creator pretty much has to come up with all of the things that, in many other media, take a huge team to pull together.

So I'm hopeful that audiences will agree with me on my project, and I'm also hoping to learn a lot about the very thing I've examined at length to be able to comment on...and also try to share some laughs and thrills.

Jonathan L Howard's Johannes Cabal-books need to be adapted as comics, and I would love to get my hands on that. I, uh, might have already had a go at drawing up some character-designs. >.>

I also think the Friends at the Table-podcast would make a lovely comic - or, you know, a big-budget animated series would be nice too. Clear out the dice-rolls, and there is some seriously nice conflict, fascinating characters and settings, and some really heart-rending choices made by the characters.

Hmmm twilight zone though I doub't could do it justice I could definitely show passion and inherent absurdity. That answer was kind of an easy out though hmmm. If for the rest of my life I was forced to only do comic adaptations to the redwall series I would not be sad at all.

@AnnaLandin RPG podcasts are an awesome source of inspiration! That reminds me that I'm currently putting together a Skype RPG group with my friends to run a role playing game, I'm secretly hoping it will fuel ideas for my next comic!

@noctuidae Have you read the official comic adaptation for it by Peter Kuper? The style of the Metamorphosis comic seems very in tune with your style, so I think it will suit you well to do your own adaptation for sure

As for the question, if for some reason there's a comic spin-off of the Fantasy Life video game, it'd be cool to get on board with that. The style is just so wonderful and charming, so colorful and the characters are really cute.

I've always wanted to do a comic of The Neverending Story since I love the movie and the book. But due to copyright laws, I can't. I know I could make a fan-comic or my own twist on it and say I was inspired by it, but I really want to adapt the story itself into a comic, I mean the landscapes themselves are enough for inspiration! Swamps of Sadness, Crystal Mountains, the Neverending Forest...All this stuff would be so much fun to draw an implement into a comic.

When I was younger I wanted to do an Alice in Wonderland comic, but then I got older and found out everyone else in the world had the same idea I did :/

@Wolven_Sister I love the Neverending Story!!!! I agree that an even more faithful adaptation than the movie, or even just taking it different places (the impact of the reader so involved in the story would get the double the immersion on the comics page!

Screenwriting or production coordination on animated tv shows for emotionally mature audiences. I'd absolutely LOVE to work on something with Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, Young Justice), or Rebecca Sugar (Steven Universe). I love writing and helping artists get their ideas into fully formed and fleshed out products. It's something I've always wanted to do.

Outside of that, comic editor would be pretty cool too!
