@Aura-Redwood Cocky characters are soooo much fun. I have one who is the definition of arrogance, but they have nothing to back it up. They fail at practically everything they do and their 'witty' one-liners are pretty lame or just don't make any sense. xD
@IdiotWithPencil I'm pretty much the opposite as a writer; I hate having to hurt my characters and usually try to avoid too much angst. xD But as a reader, I love both types you've described.
@Chrono That honestly sounds really interesting. I enjoy reading vigilante characters to an extent; Light Yagami, like you mentioned, is a good example of where things go wrong. Are you still working on the story for Anya or is there somewhere we could read more about it? I'm curious about her backstory.
@gpyrus Cooool. Those types of characters are really interesting and depending on how they're manipulative, I think they can really strike a chord with readers. Like I enjoy seeing manipulative villans get their plans foiled.
@Kura You do an excellent job of that in No Future. It really makes them more endearing and hilarious, even if it pisses off the other characters.
@indagold So basically characters that make your heart hurt...the comic relief is definitely welcome then.
