My goal is 3 pages.
Doesn't sound too ambitious, but tomorrow I'll do another 3.
Then the next day and the next day until it's done.
If I finish early, I can do a few more pages.
Sometimes I get a rush and think, "Yeah! I can finish 10 pages today!"
Then when that goal fails I get really depressed and demoralised.
I find small goals more achievable on a daily basis, building to long term goals.
I recommend getting a daily tick app on your phone, or just a calendar will do.
Every day you do some work, leave a tick.
Eventually, those 3 pages a day mount up to 90 a month.
