Well since they're pumping them out at a slightly unnerving rate in recent years (especially this year with The Lion King and Aladdin etc), what movie/show/novel/manga do you think actually deserves a modern retelling/reboot? And if you were in charge, what would you do to make sure it doesn't crash and burn?

This is the weirdest thing anyone will write on here. I am sorry for doing this.

I would love to have a boring-ass documentary about … I don't know, scorpions, with that monotonous narrator and everything to be made into a movie, with the animals being humans in costumes. Can you imagine some guy in a squishy scorpion costume crawling in the desert with ten kids in little scorpion suits on its back?! And then having a battle with a guy in a mongoose suit. Crabs would also be great for such an idea. Or killer whales.

And of course it would crash and burn. Such a ridiculous idea is made to crash and burn. It's the whole point of it.

Ok. I need to go to bed. Now.

queens blade live action....ok it will have to be an R or RR but done well it would be awesome!

I wish we weren't sad, poor, wannabe artists on this site. If we were rich, we could put all our Ink together, hire Angelina Jolie for the mama scorpion (I guess we can get a discount on her kids, she has enough to pull it off realistically), Christian Bale (I mean, his Batman was pretty mongoose-level according to me) for the mongoose, Morgan Freeman for the narrator. Who else?

HELP ME PUT TOGETHER A MOVIE THAT SHALL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY!!! (caps for dramatic effect - or just plain hysteria)

im waiting about twenty years until we can have an animated tv reboot of harry potter. one season per book, more space in the structure for all the juicy details, more freedom in the animation to capture the vibe. ideally itd be like oldschool laika style stop motion, all a bit janky but full of character. like im not a hp stan anymore but i Want This.

It would be cool to see a movie adaptation of "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson. It is clever, well-written novel, with a lot of action and good plot, so it really could become an enthralling movie or serial. Also there are believable programmers and mathematician among the characters.

THIS, but with Percy Jackson please. The films just hurt too much to see... Was it so difficult to addapt them correctly?

I want a live action Undertale movie starring Dwayne Johnson as the kid.

Mainly cause itd be hilarious to see fan art of Dwayne x Papyrus

YES. I really wish a good adaptation of Percy Jackson books would exist.

Personally I've never been much for movie adaptations of something that already exists as say a movie or a show, so if anything I'd like to see something that hasn't been already adapted or made in the industry before. While I can't think of anything that would particularly be nice as a movie adaptation (at least at first glance), I would like to see more of the Zaregoto Series adapted (that one could theoretically work as a movie, although I'd advocate for it being animated). Furthermore, there is a manga called Shoulder-a-Coffin Kuro that recently finished its run (or at least within a year), so if that could get an anime adaptation then I would be pleased.

I really wanna see a Kamen Rider adaptation. Really, most seasons could work adapted Marvel style, but I think either Ichigo or Drive would work the best.

That, or a theatrical animated Bionicle movie....

(Or an animated version of one of my projects.... )

My dream has always been a live action Howl's Moving Castle movie that follows the plot of the book. Because as lovely as Ghibli's version of it is, I'd love to see it be more accurate with the book. Although at the same time I'm very scared that it'd be an absolute disaster or just very underwhelming/disappointing.

Since Hollywood seems to like going to classical anime/manga recently it's only a matter of time before Sailor Moon live action remake. Using the dub names because it's now set in America like they did with Death Note. Quite possibly keeping the writing fumble with Neptune and Uranus as cousins but not changing the subtext, because what's researching source material. And probably be either super edgy gritty super hero style or overly exaggerated high school drama.

But also pick any anime that's up in the higher ratings but has a childish fun adventure plot and watch the amount of people who go to watch it expecting a cute comedy because all anime is for children.

for me i want Yu Yu Hakusho to get a revamp i would love to see that... i know they did a special, but i want another series O
like they did with Dragonball

I really want there to be a movie adaption of the Redwall books. There was an animated show in the early 2000s that was all right, but an epic series of would be awesome, especially since the show only adapted three of the books. There's about 20+ books, so it would be able to go on for a bit. I feel like there hasn't been a really epic set of movies based on kid's books in a while. So yeah, there should be a Redwall movie series.

And they need to bring back Tim Curry as Slagar if it happens.

I kinda want to see a show based on the magic treehouse book series, purely for nostalgia. It was real good, from what I remember

santa vs the martians and I would make it an action/comedy scifi fantasy dumb dickflick =P

I have been WAITING for that darned Artemis Fowl movie for YEARS!!!!!
I know it's supposedly all cast and everything now, but it was supposedly all casy and everything like five years ago!
I loved those books as a kid. I read then over and over again. I haven't read them in years, but they still hold a very special place in my heart (well... one through four do). I just want to see a good adaption of the first one, that's all I want.

Side note: A lot of fans of the series have complained about the decision to cast Commander Root as a woman. That choice DOES detract from an important plot point (Holly Short being the first female LEP officer), but I'd argue that that plot point doesn't work in 2019. We, the "mudmen", now allow women to fight on the front lines in the military; and the fairies are frequently described as more enlightened (in general) than the humans. So why, in 2019, would there STILL have never been a female LEP officer before Holly? I think that Holly can have other reasons for wanting to prove herself that don't feel so... archaic.
