As Kattar is now paralyzed, Alicia helps him out in ways she can by assisting in keeping his house clean (which she doesn't even do for her own place XD) helping him decorate for holidays and things like that, as he's still getting used to moving around in his wheelchair.
He still likes buying her pretty things, or cute things he knows she'd like, and that's probably a big part of his love language. He also likes teasing her to get her to smile and blush because while it amuses him to annoy her, he also knows it amuses her to pretend to be annoyed. A perfect endless cycle.
âAye caramba. Are you trying to air-fry the furniture?â I grumble, taking my shoes off at the door out of habit.
Kattar shrugs. âIâm always cold these days.â
âIn this inferno?â I check his temperature with my hand. His rosiness certainly looks less healthy than normal. âYou donât have a fever.â
âItâs my motherâs genes getting to me,â he says, almost recoiling at the touch. He smiles a little awkwardly, âIâm okay, reallyâ
âIf youâre sure...â I step back, glancing around the living room. Thereâs mistletoe lying on the end table and a small Christmas tree by the sofa, glittering sparsely with a few fake candy canes near the base. âWhat exactly were you planning decorations-wise?â
âJust to gift-wrap the door like my mom always does and get some more ornaments on the tree. I canâtâŚâ He trails off, looking at the floor, and decides to leave his statement incomplete. âThe gift wrap and ornaments are in my closet.â
I hurry to the room. At least if Iâm working thereâll be something to talk about - less awkward silence. My skin burns under the coat, but I try to ignore it.
