Hmm, hard to say... I kind of relate to classicist considering I'm a very "visual" person who prefers something to look good, loves cool and nice-looking art styles (though "tradition", depending on what it is, isn't always too important - I can't relate to there being an "objective good and bad") -
At the same time, I have a tendency to think that my own art is "good enough" if it looks ok (but that might just be me being lazy) - but I still very much want it to look good visually and try to get better at drawing.
I can also relate to iconoclast, at least for my current comic, as my comic is a parody of the game industry, sometimes critizising and satirizing parts of it (though mostly in a fun, light-hearted way) and a way for me to give my own commentary. I could never imagine "selling out" or "pandering" just for the sake of more views alone, and mostly make this for myself the way I want, and I don't take myself or my art too seriously. On the other hand, outside of this comic... I'm not that big on "presenting the truth of the world" at all? And would rather make up stories just for fun.
Also some animist because I'm a very "character-focused" (but not story-focused) creator and typically characters are one of the things I love most about any works, or that gets in interested in the first place. Some of my favorite works have a rather "shallow" or almost non-existent story but I love them because of the characters.
Not sure how much of a formalist I am, as much as I appreciate and like to see experimentation of different kind with comics I don't go out of my way to do this a whole lot myself and am happy with just using "regular" comic page layouts (though if I get some cool idea out of nowhere I wouldn't be opposed to trying it out), unless you count experimentation in a more broad definition and more subtle/slight way? (because you could say I "experiment" regarding my genre/niche, and sometimes try out new ideas with drawings, not sure if they work or not but still willing to try) And in a broader art-sense (both my own and others), I do place experimentation and change (when it works) higher than having to keep to traditon (my own game ideas, for example...) I prefer experimentation and new-fresh ideas to strict tradition, and even though I love nice-looking art for the looks itself, what I think is "nice-looking" isn't always bound by tradition. So guess I'm more of a formalist after all?
So... I'm a non-tradition-bound classicist, a character-focused but not very story-focused animist, a formalist who doesn't tend to experiment in a big way, and a more "light-hearted" iconoclast. Makes sense
For me, this will also really depend on the work in question, haha x3 For some works I might be more of an animist, for others, more of a formalist or iconoclast.
