When you first came up with your comic or novel, what was the first image that popped into your mind? Was it a character? A setting? A panel? Or a series of panels?

I'll go first: In my ancient adventure comic, Enoch: The First City, the first thing I imagined was a boat falling from the sky, starting out as a little pinprick and getting bigger and bigger and bigger, until it looked like it was about to crush you underneath.

The rest of the story emerged as I imagined how the boat got up there to begin with. How about you? Where did your story start?

I think it was either a hospital room or a park. interestingly, no parks have appeared yet. But I imagined the female lead getting out into nature to find something beautiful to paint or send a picture of to her best friend, while he was in the hospital.

This idea still made it into the story, but a park never ended up being one of the places she went looking for beauty to send pretty pictures to him, instead we got a florist, a chocolatier, some of her paintings and more:

Oh, that's so interesting that your first image has made appearances in subtle hints and vibes, but not literally.

This was the first image I drew for Finding Daecon’s Way. I drew it on Christmas Day 2022 while at my sister’s house. Daecon has evolved a lot since this was done.
