It was about this chadlite badass who is the number 1 fighter in his school... who gets mixed up fighting inter-dimensional gangstas and an evil emperor from another world... Lots of fighting from start to finish like a typical shonen manga

I know that was probably not your younger self’s intention, but the design is kinda cute in a way

Love the designs! I can relate, childhood imaginations are boundless. :joy:

I wrote a lot of stories in my early teens, most of them comprising of half-finished drafts of nonsensical survival horrors, but the very first story which I pour my heart, soul and sleepless nights of research has to be my current project, Heavenfall, mostly about a fictional country plunged into a civil war—which I started back in 2015 and now working on the revamp.

It's near laughable how so thematically out of the wheelhouse it is than what my teeny self would've written, but it's stuck with me most all these years.

Oh. My. God. I just LOVE your art! I’m gonna go check you stuff out dhhdndjdnx

My first stories from what I remember were the ones I wrote for homeschool when I was 7 or 8. I wrote Magic School Bus stuff and adventures with Perry the Platypus.

But I remember something that I wrote when I was younger and it was called “Princess Platypus and the Golden Tree” the story was that she journeys to said Golden Tree to grant her one wish which was to see her family. I don’t remember the rest of it but it was nice. I also remember one from when I was like 6 where I wrote a Team Umizoomi story where Millie lost a tooth.

If you’re counting something original, it was my first original story called “Tera and the Scale Saver” which was a fantasy story I wrote when I was about 15 or so. I’m thinking about coming back to it as I’m starting to delve into a little deeper into the fantasy genre now. I just need to figure out the story.

I’m starting to think I’m the only person on earth that’s never written a single word of fan fiction lol

My first story was mystery about a princess who lost her favorite necklace. Soon after I decided to add a bumbling detective. Eventually the princess became a rich heiress and the detective became a rookie P.I. trying to distance himself from his grandfather's criminal legacy.
I keep coming backing to it whenever I try out a new medium XD. First thought about animation, then a graphic novel, and recently a visual novel game.

Ahaaa I don't even have the original file of my first ever story. It was some lame ass book called California Crime Squad. I don't know why I even thought about that never having lived or seen California. Heck I've never even visited the US. XD XD XD

Yeah, it's in book and ebook form. You go to the H.G. Wells Competition website and there's an anthology that included the two winners (Junior Category (up to age 21) and adult category (upwards) as well as the finalists.)

The anthology for the year I won is called "Motion"

I'mma be listed as Gloria Mesa because they got my pen name wrong lol. Lael is my middle name, I spell it Leyelle for marketing purposes, but they wrote my story as "Rain Dance by Leyelle." :sweat_01:

My pen name is Leyelle but they got it scrambled and titled my story "Rain Dance by Leyelle" and wrote my real name Gloria Mesa in the anthology. Lael is my middle name. I spell it Leyelle for marketing purposes.

Damn, the book's not available in Kindle Australia.

I'll check with my folks in London.

I didn't even realize there was a separate Kindle by country, i've never bought anything off Kindle :sweat_02:

I really don't understand why you'd have to do that with digital stuff, but maybe it has to do with servers or something

The 1st story I remember writing was Janna and Jan't (pro. Jah-Nay). I was 4/5 at the time and my inspiration was that my sister knew a kid in her class named Jan't. It wasn't really about nothing, just the 2 girls running errands and going home.

At that age I didn't know the word "withdraw" nor did I know how to draw people getting money from the bank. I asked my sister for help and she drew them with guns, masks, and loot bags. She assumed "get money out the bank" = "rob the bank"

Unfortunately most of my early stories are lost to time and I'll never read it again :sob:

My first ever story, yeesh. How old was I when I first started writing? Maybe 14?

iirc, my first story I wrote was called "Angel of Darkness". Which was about a young man who, when he was younger, accidentally killed a girl whose body was left in a construction zone cause I don't remember why.
Then he grew to be an adult that had strange occurrences in his life, frequent nightmares and seeing things.
Eventually he found he was being haunted by the girl he killed. The nightmares served as a warning of things to come and he had to avoid it somehow.

I don't remember much from this story since it was written so long ago, but, it never reached a true ending.
