What would you like to happen to your comic?

Once I aquire an income which id harder being disabled with the epilepsy I have. I plan on hiring someone to redraw/colour mine, then I would publish it. I could design the template, covers, do the rest fine with my graphic and website desgin background.

I am already working on animation shorts and collabing with a voice actor who is doing other collabs as well to build his portfolio. I didnt ask him to help me out, he saw my projects test sequences I had posted in a FB Manga Artists and Animators Group I'm part of. He loved my project and wanted to use his voice for it.

I first saw anime back in the 80s as Astro Boy dubbed English in black and white I wanted to do my own. Back then 'cartoon' was used alot.

I already have people doing fan art. I post that on my main studio site with artists links.

I just want a decent following that reads each episode.

Long-term goal/dream is to publish a physical paperback version, but I'm going to wait until certain scenes have happened in this current chapter before I start putting together packages. I'd also have to re-draw all the crummy early chapters.

big big BIG dream goal is if I do end up publishing a physical version if someone ever cosplayed as one of the girls from my comic that would probably make me cry lol.

My biggest dream for Elsie is to have someone (a fashion historian) analyze my comic or someone draw historically accurate clothing fan art or something.

I mean I’ve done my research on the fashion of the time but it would be cool if someone drew or made historically accurate cosplay or something.

I mean. I tried. Mainstream steampunk fashion looks weird to me. I took a more historical approach.

All of it! I want animation, movies, live action adaptations, and of course fan art most definitely! Creating an animated series for The Action Fruit Society would be a huge milestone for me, but that’s more of a long term goal.

Short term goals are simply more viewership of my comics. You know what I really want with my comics? Reception: people commenting on my stories more often, whether it’s to give advice or to say how much they like what they’re getting so far.

Without giving much away, a lot of the stuff I didn't think would... EVER happen in my early twenties is happening to my comic so uh... stay tuned.

Fanart/fanfics would be cool but that’s not a main goal.

It would be cool to have an animated show but I don’t want my stuff to be milked to sell merch. I am OK with a few shirts or plushes but I hate the pointless stuff.

Short term is for it to have enough of an audience to justify spending the time needed to work on some short animations.
Because no matter how good I feel animating, the labor to engagement ratio is difficult

You plan to do the animation yourself as well?

I too am aiming for an animation, but I don't intend to appeal to a big company where it's a binary of 'it either gets adapted or it doesn't' - I intend to crowdfund small pieces of animation as much as support allows.

Maybe the whole thing won't get animated within my lifetime, but it shows that we don't need to ask a big powerful entity to grant our wishes. Animators, voice actors, composers etc are just people like you or I; we can talk to them, and make deals with them directly! If we want something to happen, we CAN do it ourselves! The power is in OUR hands!

My ultimate wish then is for it to successfully be animated in its entirety within my lifetime, and for that to inspire people and stand as a testament to the power of incremental progress and grassroots, stigmergic coordination

I'm planning to buy a custom song with my own money and animate to that. No VAs or SFX needed when you have music!

Yeah that’s one of my goals too! If I couldn’t get an anime adaptation for my comic; I would just self-fund it myself and have the animations done my way!

We might actually be talking about the same thing? When I say 'crowdfund' I don't mean necessarily a Kickstarter campaign to raise enough money for a full 20 minute episode in one go; my plan is more

• divide my comic into 'cuts' that could range from seconds to like 3 minutes
• let people put themselves on a spreadsheet saying they're willing to animate X cut for Y dollars
• have a Ko-fi tip jar or smth, track all the donations, and when I accumulate enough to hire someone, hire them

Then again, my plan is for it to all build up into an actual full adaptation, and maybe you're moreso doing music videos which is something different? Still, I defs don't plan to animate everything literally by myself; it will 100% never get finished and I won't have any time to work on my other stories :'D

For me, it's more like do some one off animations by myself, and if there's ever enough interest, crowdfund to hire help for a longer project.

... maybe I'm just naive about sound design Oh well, I'll probably stick to my plan of just pasting spoken dialogue in the correct places and if it sounds horrible, c'est la vie :'D
