What's a staple food that your character eats?

What's the one thing your character can eat, all day, every day? Not because it's their favorite, but because it's usually the only thing around they can stomach. Libum's staple food in the Village is a type of fruit called ubawi--a mystical enlarged fruit that looks like a giant green grape, that tastes kind of like a mix between an apple and lychee. They're really satisfying to eat because of the crunch, and they can be pickled when unripe and used in other dishes. They are abundant in the world he's in, so he finds them everywhere. He doesn't feel like cooking? He can just find some ubawi on the floor and start snacking.

(Libum likes intense flavors, so he's all for pickling them! Except they're not as satisfying to bite into...when they're pickled too long, the texture is like eating a sad, giant raisin. )

I can’t blame him. Potatoes are freaking delicious!!

But of course all of them love a good cup of tea.

Ernest also likes cream and cabbage. Weird food choice but okay. He just dips a leaf of cabbage into the cream of the butter churner.

Well, my comic features chickens, so corn (not the kind you get on the cob) just feed corn.

Hens in my story generally gorge themselves, but my main chicken, Friar, made a vow of scarcity and does not eat much.

Staple food is usually tea for Alicia (Damsel in the Red Dress). She rarely has much of an appetite but she can get herself to drink tea with a lot of milk and sugar so that will give her some calories at least.

Similarly Kattar often doesn't have much of an appetite, but he can usually get himself to eat a sandwich if he can gather the energy to MAKE a sandwich.

Now in "Hushabye Prince" Jinwoo eats gingersnaps and hot cocoa every day. It's not that he can't stomach other foods but rather that he usually chooses not to.

Jinho and Andrew ("Damsel in the Red Dress.") can eat offals basically all the time, even if they are completely uninterested in other foods. (Jinho is occasionally uninterested in eating, Andrew does too much manual labor for that. He's always hungry)

Evan ketchup on everything, junk food such as pizza (lobster and pepperoni pizza), steak, pork (crubeens: pig feet), barbeque flavor meat. He prefers meat, not the biggest fan of veggies and expecially hates boiled carrots. Evan is adventurous and is up to try unusual dishes with his best buds (frog legs, gator, snail etc) so maybe he finds some wacky new favourite.

Owen For breakfast : Kids Cereal (Mr. Patchez themed Cereal is his favourite), he enjoys fruits and vegetables (carrots, apples, pear, strawberries, blue berries etc)
He doesent enjoy red meat eater as his brother, Evan does, mostly sticks to chicken and seafood.
His personal fave is Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori flavored Paneer from an East Indian resturant nearby.
