I cant remember the first graphic novel I read but the first manga I read was naruto bak when I was still a naruto fan

The first comic I ever read was probably the Donald Duck comic (the issues were released biweekly in the stores, then switched to weekly) and ever since then I've bought a lot of these. I think it was the major trigger that got me into comics in general. The first manga I ever read... well I can't remember, but I remember the first one that I was able to buy. It was The Mythical Detective Loki in German language.

First comic: Not including comic strips in the newspaper, Spawn and X-men probably (I would read it when I was way too young to read it when I went to visit my cousins) First comics I owned for myself was random issues of Sonic the Hedgehog.

First manga: I think it may have been either Ranma 1/2 or Card Captor Sakura (I was too young to be reading Ranma also)

First manhwa: Ragnarok for sure, I'm not much into manhwa too much.

First webcomic: Honestly, who knows, those poor things get re-blogged / uploaded / stolen and unsorced so much I got no idea who made it, what series it was from or where it came from. For more of a story driven one (that wasn't a BL, everyone kept giving me BL links =_=) probably 'Minor Acts of Heroism' or 'Lackadaisy'

being the last born of four brothers most of what i got as a kid were hand me downs so as a guess ( because were talking over 40 years ago here) my first comic was probably a copy of Eagle. it had lots of war stories that my big brother use to love. when i got to an age where I could buy my own comics I was into a British comic called the Beano and batman. in my teens it became Judge Dredd.
to be honest before I joined Tapastic I never really read other peoples comics for fear of subconsciously using other peoples ideas. so I think the first web comic was one of the ones on my reading list.

however my first manga movie watched was Ninja Scroll

Ah yes, I love Garfield! I love Garfield's sarcasm and everytime I read it I always wondered "When will Jon get a date?"

Never heard of Shugo Chara but Definitely D.N.Angel! I was so in love with Dark when I was a 12 year old. I thought, "they can't get any better than this" But then I met webcomics and here I am now haha

One Piece from Genius Oda was the first manga I read.
I already knew the anime watching it on tv, but After discovering a small manga/ comicbook section in the local library I read it for the first time....I'm not quite sure but it was somewhere in the Arlong-Arc...
It was shortly followed by Magic Kaito from Gosho Aoyama

Wow these are all great titles! I've read Penny Arcade and it was the drug that kept me going but my first webcomic was called Blindsprings by Kadi Fedoruk (It's like Disney plus social issues plus magic)

And I never got into Love Hina but I love Negima which was made by the same creator. Negima got me hooked on to the fantasy manga life and well.. I haven't met a comic like Negima since.

First exposure to comics was Archie, twas on a shelf at a friends place. But the first thing I've ever read was Skip Beat and since then I've been on a roll

Ah yes, Skip Beat! A good example of story vs art and how story always trumps art! I really love Kyoko and Ren (Forget that Shou guy what a jerk lol) A very good gateway drug!

One of the first animes I've watched was berserk and after watching the last episode it left with such a terrible cliffhanger that I was furious. Then I found out about the manga and that it went much further on. I darted to the book store and purchased the first few volumes. Still my favorite story to this date.

I haven't heard of Noblesse, I'll have to look it up haha! But Rebirth is pretty old, like late 90s lol

And I guess Go-Gurly isn't called that anymore. I just looked it up for old times sake and the name's been changed to "Girly". It has a lot of dirty jokes, so if you're fine with a couple of women making perverted humor while somehow at the same time developing a romance ? it's pretty good! :')

Hmmmmm...

First comic: Donald Duck. My godparents actually started a subscription for me when I was born. xD So by the time I was old enough to enjoy them, there were a ton to catch up. And it went on for closer to 10 years. There's a huge amount of those stashed in my parent's storage because I have no space to keep them.

First manga: I know I thumbed through some Ranma ½ and Dragonball volumes first but the one that got me into it was Inuyasha when it got Finnish translation. My 13 year old self might have been slightly smitten with the title character.

First graphic novel: This one's haaaard, but I think it might have been Fun home: A family tragicomic by Alison Bechdel

First webcomic: Prague Race by Leppu

"Girly" sounds a bit like Go Get A Roomie (Though it mainly focuses on one cheery lesbian and her platonic friendship with a woman who sleeps a lot)

Noblesse is... well... a roller coaster ride, without giving anything away ahaha XD

My first graphic novel was probably this spiderman comic my brothers owned where spiderman discovered electro was using hockey pucks to smuggle drugs into Canada.

I also read alot of Archie, Asterix, and for better or for worse.

My first Manga was Musashi 9 when i was 14. Not something I'd recommend TO a 14 year old but i loved it.

Doraemon was my first manga, I think. It was quite popular when I was a kid and the anime was airing on the local tv channels. XD

Then, there's Garfield for comics because the books previously belonged to my older brothers, I think. And of course, there were the newspaper strips.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Chinese comics but I used to enjoy "reading" Lao Fu Zi (a.k.a Old Master Q) even though I couldn't understand a word of Mandarin lol XD;;;; (I still can't read Mandarin. I've never read another chinese comic since.)

Then, my first manhwa was Ragnarok because I got addicted to Ragnarok Online, lol XD;;; (It opened my eyes that manga-styled comics do not have to be made to read from right-to-left.) Nowadays I'm following Noblesse and a few others which I haven't been keeping up.

As for webcomics... I'm a bit fuzzy about which was my first because I wasn't really into webcomics when I was in the weeaboo stages of my life, lol XD;;;;;;

If memory serves me right, my first was 'Chobits'. It's a comic about a guy who wants to have the sex with a robot girl he found in someone's trash, but the voice inside her head says "no, he has to love you first", but the robot girl is like ~durp~. Then some stuff happens probably, I never finished it so I wouldn't know, lol! My first western comic was 'The Arrival' by Shaun Tan, a silent comic about a man moving to a foreign land for work, and the stories he hears from the various people he meets. It's rather surreal, the visuals are amazing, and it's still one of my favourites.
