I think on Tapas, the most popular tends to be fantasy and romance (hetro & BL)

bl stories

I personally read 3 kind of books:
Erotic
Autobiographies / Or a mix of prose and autobiography (Charles Bukowski)
Biographies (music)

I like reading spiritual non-fiction books, but I can't say I've found any novel with spiritual lessons that I like.

But the two stories I'm working on deal with spirituality, so, yeah, that's where my interest lie.

Episode 376: "Pahina ng Buhay"

It's in Tagalog... But the stuff mentioned here (demonstration of matrimonial love in perfect alignment with the scripture 1 Cor 13 that many churches ask about to be married couples to read) is very heartwarming even for someone like me who is an atheist when it comes to the issue of matrimonial love.

In summary it's about two caretakers of a 90 year old man reading the diary left behind by his wife in 2007... They were married since the 1950s. And have lived a married life of absolute selflessness that is the polar opposite of what you read in a Blackpill, mgtow, or feminist message board.

Although I don't speak Tagalog, that sounds awesome. One of my favourite description about marriage comes from Joseph Campbell (who I believe is a non-practicing Catholic):

I mentioned in another thread that I'm not particularly fond of the Romance genre (possibly because I'm basically celibate, so I don't find people's romantic exploits to be particularly interesting), but I do enjoy listening to sermons and reading exposition about courtship, marriage, and love.

Romance Fantasy seems to be the thing on Tapas, at least if that never-ending and supremely annoying spam that they fill my inbox with daily is anything to go by. It’s always absolute dreck with titles such as “I seduced the archduke’s baby’s caretaker with money” or “I was friends with benefits with the female lead’s villainous third husband”.

As for myself, I am big on high fantasy, BL/LGBTQ, and science fiction. Combine those genres and I’m really interested.

Wait like you just want to know my personal favorite kind of novels? Or what kind of stories do well on tapas?

I think my favorites are drama/gothic fiction type stories. I like Dickens novels, but I'm also a fan of fantasy series like Atherton, (hope i'm spelling that right, it's been years since i read that series) and mystery series as well. If I can get a series with action and comedy like "The Brixton Brother's Detective Agency" and "Almost Super" that's a win-win.

That said, for what does well? Probably all kinds of romance are the most popular genres. I've gained a fair amount of traction for my first romance novel on here.

Always love some good Mystery novels that slowly peels off their layers.

Stories that you have no idea where it will go, but all of your questions and the twists are wrapped up nicely in the end. And it will make you often go: "Oh, so THAT's what it was"

Whenever I look at the rankings the top spots are usually BL or romance. Maybe a villainess and isekai story as well.

Autobiography, especially music related. Travel biography books. Manga, mostly shojo.
