What's the weirdest idea you've ever had for a character?

I'm more interested in weird in the sense of personality; like, your character can be a zombie unicorn angel clown which is weird on a surface level, but I'm not particularly interested in hearing about them unless they have some weird attitudes or make some weird choices (which could perhaps only be possible because of their status as a zombie unicorn angel clown )

Mine's probably this girl who was possessive of her bf in a yandere sort of way, but it's not because she was jealous and wanted to make sure he's 100% hers, but because he's abusive, so she was trying to keep him tied to her so he doesn't go and abuse someone else

Probably the "weirdest" or rather the hardest to write are 2 of my characters, one in a villain role and the other a "clumsy protagonist".

The villain had no personal identity other than anger, but quickly gained a god complex due to being the sole survivor of something usually thought of as 100% fatal. Litteral "thinks they're god's favorite" stuff. They have to contend that belief with also having a very frail body due to genetics and having multiple failed corrective/augmentive surgeries leaving them even more physically weak. They impose their power on others through pure mental abuse and trying to write a character who believes they are powerful also wrestling with the fact that they physically are very vulnerable is really fun to work out how they'd deal with cognitive dissonance.

The other is Alice. She's an 8-year-old girl who's grown up completely cut off from society other than her one parent and 2 siblings, so she has very little social awareness while also being a really social person. She loves to talk with people and learn from them but has no idea how people act in most casual situations, especially with strangers.

That and the fact she has incredibly good memory for book learning mean she's really knowledgeable in theory about a ton of stuff but she has the 8 year old mentality of filling in the gaps with whatever moon logic seems to fit best to her (i.e. she knows siblings look alike, she knows her siblings like and take care of her, therefore she thinks everyone who looks similar to eachother are probably siblings and take care of eachother).

As of now, the weirdest has to be Revel (As in rebel but with a V).
He's a 16 year old that's really well-mannered at first meeting but switches to an aggressive, foul-mouthed state when an adult stops him from doing things he wants to do(There's a reason, but it wasn't explained yet).

Also, he's extremely verbose, which is a good thing because if I write the dialogue of another character and it reads like something Revel would say I can see that the dialogue is too much.

Like, honestly this monologue is the most insane thing I wrote yet. Keep in mind his power is to only create knife blades, which is the simplest power in the webcomic.

Weird personality wise.....would be a character that's on a comic which is currently not on this site...

I don't really consider her weird, this is more so ignorant? She was a supporting character who was dating the MC. But her sister had to come and stop them before they got too serious, as the woman had EXTREMELY frail health and shouldn't get pregnant until she can get her health back up.. This immediately lead to a "breakup"... But not before the main character had turned her into a dragon through their encounters

Near the end, it's revealed that she had been transformed by this point and instead of going back to him to start a family like it's assumed she wanted to do so badly...she just starts sleeping around. Even after they meet up and pick up right where they left off, she shows she's still very much interested but still kind of just leaves him on her own volition.

No pressure, she still loves him
being a dragon person will ensure she's healthy enough to have her own children
They could of always adopt..

But naaah...

Another one is actually in UBERNATURA:

In the latest arc as of now; there's a side character named " Tristan " who's modelled after Trunks from Dragon Ball Z.
Similarly he's from the future and warns the main characters about that comic's version of vocaloids, who will destroy earth! But unlike Trunks, he went from honestly trying to help to becoming extremely impatient and severely altering the timeline....AFTER the MCs save the world and his time!

The comic's version of the Dragonballs would technically of fixed everything, and the comic would've had a curious turn events, but in the name of "efficiency" Tristan altered something that had far more... Sway on time, than just simply stopping the androids from existing. So it messed up the events and if course altered everybody's memories in that period, everything hood that came out if it was gone. But he wanted then to try remembering just the battle experience, which of course didn't work and so he immediately yells at main characters-the guys who helped them, completely forgetting they saved many lives before he screamed around...

I think my 'wizard robot novel series' that's currently in development is probably home to most of the weirdest characters I've ever come up with; generally people with unlimited lifespans and reality-bending abilities who are nevertheless impossible to take seriously, including:

-Character who literally invented music and became the closest thing this society has to a celebrity, but also does not like people and is generally unpleasant to be around, but also is one of the most helpful characters in the cast, somehow. ^^; Later on, he 'factory resets' his consciousness for the lulz

-Character who built a world-governing supercomputer through mass murder and kidnapping, and created an authoritarian theocracy on another planet kinda just to see what would happen? (she is technically an extant character in this current novel, but more as just a background antagonist)

-Character who really wants humans to exist again for some reason, and figures she can accomplish this by throwing animals in a blender and rewiring their remains. Sweetest character in the cast. ^^;

-Character with the ability to move faster than lightspeed despite being as tall as a building. Also possesses spaceflight powers and deadly armageddon lasers. Spends his days simply bullying children and stealing their stuff.

-Character raised and trained by the inventor of martial arts, and spent most of her childhood learning to rip people's limbs off and impale their faces with her bare hands. Currently very well-mannered and kind, honestly has the most normal personality in the cast.

My childhood drawn comic where 4 male teachers use magical whip canes as weapons to fight demons. one of them (the short one) who is a pretty face & highschool charmer can turn into 'hulk' mode when angered and will brutally kill anyone if pissing him off, even his friends. Very sadistic

Hands down, my two weirdest characters are Amrox and Nocta, my two gods from a story that doesn't exist yet.

• Amrox is a literal creature of cosmic horror, it's always hungry, doesn't understand how mortals work despite being a semi-mortal god and loves to scare the shit out of everything capable of experiencing fear. It doesn't work on any rhyme or reason, it will kill and eat someone just because, other times it'll spare someone... just because, most of the time it'll probably make them violently ill. Amrox also likes watching mortals do mortal things, like having sex, fighting, or sleeping.

• Nocta is Amrox' follower, he used to be a semi-mortal phoenix dude, now he's a mass of energy in a humanoid shape. For the most part he's pretty normal, he's very into studying the universe and various gods within it, as well as the various worlds and their inhabitants. Over the eons he's become divorced from his mortal origins, and sees them as lower lifeforms to observe, but he still has some level of morality. Like, he will try to distract Amrox for consuming a whole planet, or a bunch of people if that's possible. Most of his weirdness comes from the fact that he has some gnarly kinks, and is super into Amrox despite it being a stinky, disgusting creature of plague and decomposition.

As far as my current comic characters, Daniel is probably the weirdest. He's a total predator, doesn't experience empathy, loves to start shit and mess with people, he's a compulsive liar, doesn't take anything seriously and has a thing for outcasts he can easily isolate. Dan especially loves breaking people who are difficult to crack, which is why he likes Julian so much, they're an already isolated outcast who was difficult to get under his thumb. (They're still stubborn.) There isn't a lot about him as a character in the comic because he himself doesn't share anything with anyone, and if he does it's fake or a half-truth.

• So I was thinking of what to do with Crow’s parents in Crow’s Worth. One idea was this character called “The Worth”. More of less, they were half of each parent’s souls fused together. They lived together in the same body but over time the father’s soul was absorbing the mom’s soul. So The Worth was sort of suffering from a mix of gender dysphoria and dread of the mom side slowly dying.

• So tied back to the thread about weirdest story ideas, I mentioned having a weird retelling of Genesis. One of the characters was a parallel to Archangel Micheal, renamed INVALID. He always appeared with a censor bar over his eyes. He was weirdly obsessed with ridding the world of evil through a process he called "censoring". He never smiled and always looked pissed off. And at one point it would be implied he had no eyes. These are old concept art from 2011.

For one of the weirdest things that probably happened to the idea of my character is for them to get completely high off caffeine and take all the animals and run it through and run and interrupting completely destroy a tournament that was happening. Well having no idea what the hell they were doing, all the while they were spell, sing nonsense in their own language and grieving the loss of her brother.

Not so much a weird character, but I got the idea for these two characters from a weird source. I'm doing major renovations and noticed that one of the patches of plaster on the wall looked like a puppy bothering a cranky cat:

So I made a puppy bothering a cranky cat. Meet Layla and Stinky Pete. Layla is the dog, Stinky Pete is the cat. Both are based on real life pets (Stinky Pete got his name from his smelly kitten farts).

Here are the real life Layla and Stinky Pete. The pic was taken in 2013 when Layla was a puppy and first introduced into the family. Layla has since grown into a 100 pound flying coffee table, Pete has sadly passed on. The black cat, Olivia, is still with us, she is seventeen years old.

I make a lot of weird and wonderful characters often, it's hard to pick out which is the weirdest.

I guess if I push aside their personalities, powers and other stand out qualities. The weirdest character I ever made was a mentally stable character with a good life.

I kinda take back what I've said; remember I mentioned UBERNATURA? Well.... It's a script that's already been written, and I'm just editing it to be presentable... It's been years since I've touched it so I forgot about most of the characters...

But today I just saw some dude named; Anderson... And he's the most weirdest character by far. He's a mix of Hellsing Ultimate's Added Anderson (? Forgot the character's full name) and something from the team 3 star parody.. So his threats, normal conversation and accent are all confusing and insane! It's made worse since I edited more randomness into his speech.. And the sheer amount of hypocrisy that cones out of his mouth is insane.

I wish I had a picture, but it's a novel now..and there's no way to express how this zany guy would look, except via looking at the character he's based on!

Excluding characters from unpublished works, my weirdest one would be a character who's basically an ancient evil, capable of destroying a whole dimension, but he enjoys destruction on a smaller scale more and decided to just hang out with another villain who's not exceptionally powerful, but is an abusive manipulator towards other characters. Both are in situations that make them co-dependend on each other and even though both are horrible people beyond redemption, writing their interactions is entertaining, since even ancient evil guy will call out the manipulator on his bs and tease him because of his poor life choices.

One guy in my other comic comes to my mind too, since he's seen by others as weird, loud, annoying, unbothered by horrors surrounding everybody in the story and a bit too much to handle, but this is all just a facade. But comedic relief funny guys with dark secrets aren't exactly unheard of in fiction. More of an outlier in this story would be a guy who has a fairly normal life and loving and alive family. xD

I'd have to give the title of "Weird" to my character, Dante Dumoui. He is insanely intelligent and has an absolute lack of sympathy for life. He also has neurological damage from a corroded nervous system that's bleeding into his brain, causing him to hallucinate and turning him into a skizo.

I had this weird dream of a story or maybe a character of a horror thing in which the female ghost was about to capture our main protagonist at the end of the "movie... story... whatever" in first person and out of nowhere, you see a kick on her chest and you see Stone Cold Steve Austin gives her a Stone Cold Stunner and pins 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring and everyone was cheering and climbs the turnbuckle drinking beers and going "AAAHHHH HELL YEAH!!!!" as the whole thing ends.

It was so weird and funny. Going from a horror movie by ending it in a wrestling match. I loved it!!
