My favorite is love triangles! I'm a sucker for well-written ones! I also like the cold, mysterious guy that's actually a kind and has a good reason for being stoic.

I think I answer this in a similar thread, and it might be more of a trope but i still really love the 'bad ass tough guy that people are afraid to mess with that has a soft spot for animals and cute things'

I also like the villain gets a redemption arc and overcomes the obstacles needed to join the hero side.

I like when the oddball gets the girl.

Like that kid that gets picked on ends up getting with the girl everyone else is after. I usually see it where the girl ends up protecting the guy as a kid or something and kicking everyone else's butt for picking on him. xD

I am a huge sucker for villain monologues and an even bigger fan of "bad guy stops being a bad guy to help fight even badder baddie" (whoops that's a lotta bads) and a plus when they defeat bigger villain only to try and fight the hero right after. It may be a bit cheesy (or not cheese does taste good) but it interesting to see other people's takes on it

I also like sassy villains and a good ole anti-hero (do people still have anti-heroes? aside from the popular ones that is)

Something about seeing people trying to perform their skills while inebriated is so appealing to me. I've been writing a piece about a hitman who has to fight after 6 straight days of drinking early in the story. I had a lot of fun with it.

yeah I like the whole love triangle my self. he say she say situation. DRAMA like some of the Soap opera. but I do enjoy action from time to time.
I really try to avoid cliche honestly, because it's a tricky thing. and I want to capture as many readers as I can so I tend to go for a more original idea and I try to think outside the box. even though the genre I'm currently working on is gay romance, my main character has a lot more body weight compared to what is mostly seen in the yaoi genre. and I do believe that that was me thinking outside the box because it isn't common, or at least I haven't seen it as much.
