I really like a lot of old anime based games, usually RPG's or Puzzle Games. (usually for the SNES) games but I rarely see them come over because they were not popular enough to bring them over when they were active, and now they are too old to bother wasting time on.
I keep hoping we'll see some show up in one of the online stores digital stores that companies have now or something, but I also realistically don't expect them to.
Stuff like
- Gundam Dodge Ball
- Sailor Moon Another Story JRPG
- The many puzzle games with anime re-skins.
- The old Shonen Jump cross over fighters.
- The Battle Assault series
- Super Robot Wars series
The trend for crossing over anime into video games is still a ongoing thing (with obscurity being less rare the closer you get to modern times), so there's no shortage even today and there is plenty that I still enjoy getting that are not near as unknown as their older counterparts. Generally it's unknowness is gonna be due to marketing and how popular the anime series is.
Another thing with anime to game titles, there are a LOT that are Dynasty Warriors re-skins, and though I really don't care at all for Dynasty Warriors, I for some reason REALLY liked the Dynasty Warrior cross over series for games and anime, my fave ones being-
- Pokemon Conquest
- Berserk Band of the Hawk
- Dynasty Warrior: Gundam 1, 2, 3 and Reborn
- One Piece: Pirate Warriors 1, 2 and 3
- Arslan: Warriors of Legend
Depending on the series some will be more popular than others, Hyrule Warriors is an example of one that's popular enough to be pretty well known.
just... really really enjoy these.
Also... I really wish the "Samurai Warriors" cat spin off game would have come out here.
