What's your sense of humor?

I think a lot of my humor gets overlooked as people think I'm being serious or super gullible, when really I'm playing along, or "playing stupid". But that just makes it all the more funny to me.

As for what I like to read, I love running gags. I love a joke that has been set up early on and then suddenly resurfaces later unexpectedly. I also enjoy clever puns and, "dad jokes" plus the inevitable mockery of a character that uses them.

Sometimes I like juvenile humor- a lot of the humor in a movie like "Super Bad". I imagine it's bad rep is sometimes it can also come off as too crass to people, but to me that is sort of the point. I think where I don't like this type of humor is when it's incorporated purely for shock value.

I have a really dark sense of humor. (Well I do write a comic called Existentialist Crisis. Dark angst is my bae) I usually prefer Beckettsian style but I am also cool with Oscar Wilde style satire.

people say there is good humor in my comics and i have some dark humor too, interactions between character is mostly fun for now and i take a lot of fun making them banter / talk to each other, especially in my latest pages ^^

Types of things I find funny (in order)

1) Stupidness. Like Beavis and Butthead and old Tagalog comedy shows. Anything where protagonist and anyone else are bumbling idiots who cant get anything right and screw themselves and others over because of stupidity.

2) Politically incorrect. Like Southpark, King of the Hill, Jeff Dunham, etc. I

3) Dark humor. Anything joking about death, abuse, and other "touchy-feely" subjects. Oh btw I've been an abused child myself and jokes like referring to my parents as "awesome" or "my best friends ever" have been crucial in helping me forgive and get over child abuse. lol And I have a coworker who was a veteran in both Iraq wars who was shot in the chest. He jokes about it like its nothing. Helps him cope with his PTSD.

I like absurdity, like things that are weird and goofy. I tend to prefer visual and situational humor. I love cheese and people reacting to terrible video games and movies.

I tend to hate the standard setup/punchline sort of jokes that they have in joke books. I never much cared for standup. I hate American live action sitcoms.

I am partial about juvenile humor. I think it is just how you use it. People over use it, misuse it, or make it more gross than funny; which is why some people really hate it.

pee jokes and poop/fart jokes mostly badly done, if it's done smart it's hilarious(jumanjis jack black peeing scene comes to mind) but if it's dumb it's annoying and stupid (the emoji movie poop jokes)(<_<)

I don't really know what's my sense of humour but I think it's mostly depressing and dark, example of a joke I find funny would be:
"dude why did the little kid fall from the swing?"
"don't know why?"
"cause he has no arms, now why can't he brush his hair?"
"cause he has no arms?"
"nope, cause he has cancer"

a friend of mine told me this joke once and to this day I still snicker a bit =/

Humor trends tend change really quickly, so I don't think you should worry too much about what's the most popular.

The most important thing is that the jokes are well-written and fits naturally in the flow of your narrative. You'll want to make sure it doesn't come across as having jokes that are forced and added as an afterthought
(although I have too agree that you shouldn't overuse juvenile humor. Having 1 or 2 characters with an immature sense of humor is usually fine, but a whole cast can be painful^^;

"Politically incorrect" jokes can be hilarious (I love South Park myself ) but please please remember it's actually really difficult to write well. It's really important to understand how the jokes are constructed so the jokes doesn't kick down.
Of course you can write jokes that kick down if you really want as long as they don't turn into actual hate speech, although that kind of cruel humor will turn off a huge part of your potential audience (and it's usually just not as funny).

I love Torpedo 1936 and it's humour. Which would be like noir humour.

I also like Tarantino's sense of silly jokes.

Politically incorrect, dark and random. If it doesn't cross a boundary it's not really funny to me.

Oh and the older British sense of humour. That sort of silly wit like in Black Adder and Monthy Python shows. They had a certain way with it.

My sense of humor can vary. I really like dry delivery of sarcasm (see Chandler from Friends) but I'm also a huge fan of inappropriate humor that's basically the college version of juvenile humor. (21 jumpstreet movie, pop star.)

I'm super bad at explaining the type of humor I like, but I think that covers the bases??
